Liked: The location was convenient, we have stayed several times before.
Disliked: No longer a receptionist at the hotel, I had to check in at the bar. Only one barmaid so I had to wait while she finished getting a large drinks order.Arriving for dinner a different barmaid, a blonde lady. She was very helpful. However there was no wine list although she searched high and low, while serving other people, and the kitchen had run out of tomatoes unbelievably, even though they were supposed to be part of our steak meals. Eventually another barmaid arrived to help her to look after the other customers.In the hotel our bed was not very comfortable so we didn't sleep well. Sorry.

Liked: A well above average overnight facility with food on site and delightfully decorated rooms. A good stopping off point for Sherwood Forest or further east.
Disliked: Be aware of the sticking up drain cover en route to the pub from the lodge. My wife had a nasty fall
