Looks and feels dirty. Very...
Liked: Location to beach and walking distance to Old Nice
Disliked: Looks and feels dirty. Very old for price point. Towels too small to wrap around body. Could barely move around the bed/room and balcony was so small for the table and two chairs on it. Carpet old and dirty. Very disappointing for the price paid. Do yourself a favour and troll through reviews very carefully.

Poor
Liked: Staff was friendly, reception offered sweets, location is good.
Disliked: Room 111 was more a closet than a room, super small, I needed to sit at a 45° angle at the toilet as otherwise my knees would hit the wall. Shower was super small, I couldn't even bend down. Shower controls are placed in a way that you continuously bump into it while showering.

Liked: Great location beside tram line and lovely coffee shop around the corner. Near the beach
Disliked: Rooms very small and could do with an updating. But still clean.

Disaster hotel.zero parking
Liked: Close to the beach
Disliked: Zero parking. I mean zero ! And public parking almost impossible so you have to park in a public parking house 1.2km away from hotel. No assistance in parking. Hotel is runned down and not seen a renovator the past 30 years … don’t book

Liked: The staff were amazing! So very helpful. Close to the tram and bus stop. Close to shops, restaurants and a short walk to the beach.
Disliked: A ramp at the front door would be helpful when bringing in suitcases.

No value for the money
Liked: The location is great
Disliked: It was not worth 260€ / night. We first stayed in room 109 the bathroom is a complete nightmare! Especially with a little child. It had a terrible smell in the shower and the drain was clogged. the toilet is extremely high I had to help my kid up. The shower is tiny and I had to leave the bathroom door open to move. horrible! I would never spend more than 60€ on a place like that.We were then moved to room 106. The bathroom was definitely better but the hairdryer was weak, the faucet of the sink is too short, there is hardly anywhere to hang your clothes and towels after the beach. The least that could be offered in that situation would be a rack to hang the things inside the room.The service isn’t really a service other than the room being cleaned and breakfast (which had very little choices in fruits). the luggage isn’t transported to the room, there is not staff accompanying you to your room on your first day,when the cleaning forgot the bathroom floor tower, i was asked to come look for it myself at the reception (that’s not my job, I paid 260€ & I’m not the one who forgot) I obviously didn’t go look for it at 9pm with a sleeping child in the room.When I called reception one morning to ask when the cleaning staff is coming to our room a lady at the reception said she has no access to that information. That day we ended up without cleaning service alltho I really depended on it. My kid ended up having nap at exactly that time the cleaning came by. If only I would’ve been informed. The same day when the receptionist changed I called again and suddenly he did have the option to contact the service.All in all i regret my stay at Hotel Locarno considering that for the same price I could’ve had a better hotel with actual hotel service. But I went back to Hotel Locarno after 4years and unfortunately the quality is no longer the same.4 years ago I was met with service, quality, conversation and a great atmosphere.Definitely not going there again.
