Liked: Everything is perfect! Lovely property, interior and design, beautiful gardens and river nearby, great dining menu and good breakfast.

Liked: The house is beautiful, the outside is stunning well kept gardens and an amazing piece of Welsh history. The room size was great.
Disliked: The service, was ok but not exceptional as you’d think it should be. The house interior is very tired and needs a good old over haul. The decor is fine as it’s in keeping with the house, but it needs some love. The food is listed as exceptional and award winning, but it was pretty tasteless. We left out having breakfast so we can’t rate that part of it.The bar was very small and the variety was not great, there is no atmosphere in the house. There is very minimal staff, this is sad as it could be an amazing hotel.The bedroom was ok, but our tv was broken and our bath just kept running all night long. The blind in the bathroom where the tub is was broken and laying on the window cill. Perfect for exhibitionist but personally there was zero privacy having a shower. I had to put towels over the screen for privacy.The bedroom had a very large mouldy damp patch in the corner and the carpet and chair were filthy dirty.Milk was left for us on the window ledge in full sun, sadly this had turned before we could even use it.We read that fruit was also in the room upon arrival and there wasn’t anything like that.The food on their website looks Michelin proud, but in fact it wasn’t and we weren’t the only ones in the restaurant thinking this.We chose not to complain as the staff were so low and you could see that they were rushed as things were getting forgotten and presentation wasn’t the best.The menus had no prices on so we were baffled as to what we were buying for dinner. We found it odd that you paid for your meal when you checked out, this kept us wondering what we’d spent on drinks etc. but it’s all incredibly disorganised, I don’t blame the staff I blame the amount they have.We also had loud music above us untill 11.15 ish. We had a long day as we travelled up from Kent at 3am and had lots to get done before we headed to bed at 10pm sadly we were left with loud house music and a running tap.
