Livermead Cliff Hotel

Good

Liked: Staff were amazing, very helpful, food, great, nice hotel but a little tired. A very clean hotel, room was ok but basic. Overall great service and very pleasant.
Disliked: The hotel was dated and a little tired, could do with a makeover, I appreciate this would be expensive and they need to take a great deal of money for this to happen.

Liked: Staff are friendly, good breakfast, also the service in the Bar was really good, hands up for the staff.
Disliked: Paid Parking, £10 a day, is expensive when it used to be free. The upgraded room for a sea view was more garden view than a sea view.

A most enjoyable stay, and...

Liked: The room was lovely and light, very clean, and although the bathroom was quite 'cozy', it had everything needed, with a powerful hot shower in the bath.We decided to book in for a breakfast, which was very good value for money, lots of choices, and very tasty. All the staff were very polite, professional and helpful.Only a short, easy walk alongside the beach towards the Theatre, we were visiting. There are plenty of eateries along the way too
Disliked: The view of the car park wasn't very scenic, but I didn't ask for a room with a view, as we were only in for one night. There were a few 'springy' moments with the mattress, but still comfortable

Liked: Location is fine,great views across harbour,safe parking at £10 per night. All staff were excellent and professional.Food was excellent value,especially the bar meals--good value and varied.
Disliked: Uncomfortable bed, compact room,small shower space,antiquated lift ,all these factors led to our decision not to return,as we usually visit Torquay once or twice a year. The lift has to be seen to be believed, I have done weight training in the past,so could just about cope,but God help the elderly or infirm. I am sorry to have to write this criticism.The hotel caters more for coaches now.
