We enjoyed our stay, and...

Liked: The location was excellent for getting out and about in the city. The amenities are great and the hotel seems well staffed. The lounge on the top floor is lovely, really well laid out and thoughtfully decorated with great views. You just want to hide away up there. The open verandah surrounding (seating and plant spacing) ensured privacy. The hotel staff were all lovely and really helpful with quick responses to requests. The bed was really comfortable and I liked the fact technology was incorporated into room function. The Little National Post was informative for tourists. I enjoyed reading it.
Disliked: Technology wasn't always working which meant having to go to Reception to order more sundry items. The room control panel by the front door is too low and difficult to see. The hairdryer wasn't working so had to request a replacement - might be worth getting staff to check these things occasionally. The room was a bit too cool and I couldn't change the setting so ended up turning off the temperature control panel. Staff said the temperature settings are centrally controlled. For a couple you really need two luggage racks.Perhaps the biggest issue for me was the fact that due to the bedroom floor plan, the bed cannot be made without staff having to crawl over the bed to make it. This has to be a OH&S issue and is not hygienic in the least when someone who has been cleaning floors and bathrooms is then crawling all over your bed! Also, my partner kept waking me up at night to crawl past me to get to the bathroom. OK if you are fit enough but not really something for the elderly. I do understand there are some rooms where you can walk around the bed but we didn't get one of those and maybe this needs to be advertised more for booking purposes.
