An OK stay in a...

Liked: Great location for a family party at the Cherwell Boathouse. Managed to get a parking space at the front of the hotel. Our room was in the quieter, rear of the property. Free upgrade to an "Executive" room and bottles of sparkling water in our room on arrival. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The hotel is located in a quiet and well-to-do and leafy part of Oxford away form the main part of the city. Could be great with a bit of investment.
Disliked: Thin & creaky acrylic bath tub. Just a kettle, 2 cups and weird choices of hot beverages: sachets of instant Nescafe and PG Tips or Raspberry fruit tea. Thin towels. We didn't stay for any meals or breakfast, so I can't comment on the quality of the food and our Executive room didn't seem to offer any advantages over a regular room (but I was still very pleased to get an upgrade!). The staff are great, but the hotel feels unloved and is definitely in need of some investment and a refurbishment. Public areas had wrinkled carpets and poor quality furnishings and fittings. It may be that the hotel's owners have pitched it at the single-night stop-over market (tourists on coach tours) and so they feel that they don't have to try too hard.

Liked: The location was really good and close to city center.
Disliked: They charged me for the parking for two nights, but did not ensure a parking spot for me. I ended up parking outside for one of the two nights. Didn’t get any refund for the parking slot I had already paid for.

Liked: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideal location. Only 20 min walk to the centre. Rooms were good and clean. Everything you need is available in the room. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice

Disliked: Value for money. Way too expensive for what it offered. The reality NOTHING like the pictures posted. Quite misleading. Plis the price per room was mucho cheaper closer to the date that when I booked way in advance.
