Once owned by children's author Beatrix Potter Lindeth Howe country house hotel is set in beautiful large gardens just a 5-minute walk from the banks of Lake Windermere. Locally sourced produce is served on the seasonal English menu in the 2 AA Rosette-awarded Lindeth Howe Restaurant. Homemade cakes and scones are also served in the Lindeth Howe Restaurant with fresh tea or coffee. Overlooking the gardens is Lindeth Howe's lounge areas which has garden doors that lead onto a terrace. Guests will find a log fire and a wood burner in the sitting rooms. There is also a butterfly trail carpet that leads to a bar! The room next to the bar is the Hilltop room where guests can relax dine and also hire out for private functions. Each elegantly furnished room at Lindeth Howe has an private bathroom with complimentary toiletries free WiFi a flat-screen TV and 24-hour room service. Additional amenities include a desk and ironing facilities. Some rooms have garden views. Lindeth Howe specializes in sightseeing tours golf fishing walking and mountain bike hire. The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is within 1-mile of the hotel. Windermere Lake Cruises set off just 30 minutes' walk away.

Beautiful relaxing full of character

Liked: Beautiful property. Comfortable beds thick towels beautiful decor. Loved the Beatrix Potter theme

Lovely hotel shame about the...

Liked: It was a lovely friendly hotel, all the staff were very pleasant.
Disliked: A little disappointed with the food.

Very good

Liked: The soft furnishings, history associated with Beatrix Potter, staff and grounds.
Disliked: No lift. Bar and food are too expensive.

Lots of potential but falls...

Liked: Parking
Disliked: Cold room when we arrived. Lounges not warm enough to relax in. Curtains didn’t pull easily. Fan in bathroom running all night. Food disappointing and not value for money

Liked: The staff were lovely, Matt was brilliant , and welcomed us to the hotel. He was very professional. The hotel was immaculate, the room was very big with lots of personal touches. The food was lovely, staff were good. Breakfast was delicious, lots to choose from. Would highly recommend this hotel.
