Once owned by children's author Beatrix Potter Lindeth Howe country house hotel is set in beautiful large gardens just a 5-minute walk from the banks of Lake Windermere. Locally sourced produce is served on the seasonal English menu in the 2 AA Rosette-awarded Lindeth Howe Restaurant. Homemade cakes and scones are also served in the Lindeth Howe Restaurant with fresh tea or coffee. Overlooking the gardens is Lindeth Howe's lounge areas which has garden doors that lead onto a terrace. Guests will find a log fire and a wood burner in the sitting rooms. There is also a butterfly trail carpet that leads to a bar! The room next to the bar is the Hilltop room where guests can relax dine and also hire out for private functions. Each elegantly furnished room at Lindeth Howe has an private bathroom with complimentary toiletries free WiFi a flat-screen TV and 24-hour room service. Additional amenities include a desk and ironing facilities. Some rooms have garden views. Lindeth Howe specializes in sightseeing tours golf fishing walking and mountain bike hire. The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is within 1-mile of the hotel. Windermere Lake Cruises set off just 30 minutes' walk away.

Liked: Everything! Wonderful decor, beautiful gardens and views, plenty of car parking spaces, fantastic location - walkable distance to Bowness town centre but also very quiet away from traffic. Restaurant staff very professional and very attentive and food delicious

Liked: great property and top class decoration and gardens surrounding
Disliked: all very good - the bar man was a bit miserable and hard work with most customers .. didn’t fit in with excellent reception and other staff

Liked: The staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel is quaint and quirky. Lovely and clean. Delicious food for breakfast and dinner. Lovely location with stunning views.

Liked: Amazing location and fabulous food!
Disliked: One of us is lactose intolerant and breakfast could possibly have been better accommodated for specific dietary requirements, but everything else was fantastic.
