Once owned by children's author Beatrix Potter Lindeth Howe country house hotel is set in beautiful large gardens just a 5-minute walk from the banks of Lake Windermere. Locally sourced produce is served on the seasonal English menu in the 2 AA Rosette-awarded Lindeth Howe Restaurant. Homemade cakes and scones are also served in the Lindeth Howe Restaurant with fresh tea or coffee. Overlooking the gardens is Lindeth Howe's lounge areas which has garden doors that lead onto a terrace. Guests will find a log fire and a wood burner in the sitting rooms. There is also a butterfly trail carpet that leads to a bar! The room next to the bar is the Hilltop room where guests can relax dine and also hire out for private functions. Each elegantly furnished room at Lindeth Howe has an private bathroom with complimentary toiletries free WiFi a flat-screen TV and 24-hour room service. Additional amenities include a desk and ironing facilities. Some rooms have garden views. Lindeth Howe specializes in sightseeing tours golf fishing walking and mountain bike hire. The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is within 1-mile of the hotel. Windermere Lake Cruises set off just 30 minutes' walk away.

Exceptional

Liked: I was there for a wedding. Hotel was beautiful and the wedding breakfast was superb.
Disliked: We stayed in Room 106. Beautiful room, but the mattress was so bouncy. I hardly got any sleep as every time we moved in our sleep, I was woken up.

Comfortable and so relaxing and...

Liked: The view over the Lake was amazing.Loved the decor and plush carpets and the grounds were lovely and well kept.Room lovely and warm and bed so comfortable.Plenty of wardrobe space and tea and coffee making facilities.
Disliked: The shower could have a been a little more powerful but was pleasant all the same.Everything else was fantastic and more than met our expectations.

Anniversary visit

Liked: Beautiful hotel, set in lovely gardens. Location was very near to the Marina and a short drive to Bowness.The staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful.
Disliked: Everything was perfect, there's nothing to dislike

Outstanding hotel

Liked: As per my previous review 3 weeks ago this hotel is outstanding, cannot fault anything except the shower in our room 106 took 10min to warm up
Disliked: Disliked nothing.
