The Spotlight on Lincoln House Private Hotel

Victorian Charm Just Minutes from Cardiff’s Music Scene

Set in a beautifully restored Victorian townhouse, the Lincoln House Private Hotel blends classic elegance with modern comfort. Located in one of Cardiff’s most desirable areas—often dubbed the “Chelsea of Cardiff”—this boutique hotel is just a short walk from the heart of the city and top concert venues. Whether you're in town for a major stadium tour or an intimate gig, you'll love the peaceful setting on Cathedral Road.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel is a fantastic pick for music lovers thanks to its walkable distance to the Principality Stadium and Cardiff Castle. After the show, you can skip the long taxi queues and stroll back through the safe and scenic neighborhood. While it’s close to the action, the location stays quiet at night—perfect for guests needing a restful sleep. The check-in time of 14:00 and check-out at 11:00 gives you enough flexibility for a pre-show recharge and a relaxed morning after.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want character and convenience without the noise of the city center
  • Solo travelers catching a dream gig and looking for a safe, cozy base
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of it
  • Fans who prefer a quiet spot to unwind post-concert
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want charm and location without the big hotel price

Food and Drink Options

There’s a small in-house bar that’s perfect for a nightcap, and the city center is just a short walk away, offering a wide range of late-night restaurants and eateries. While the hotel doesn’t have a full-service restaurant, it does serve a generous breakfast—ideal for the morning after a late night out. Room service is not 24/7, so plan ahead for any post-show snacks.

Nightlife Options

You're well-placed to explore Cardiff’s buzzing nightlife. Within walking distance, you'll find pubs, cocktail bars, and live music venues. While the hotel itself is more about quiet comfort than on-site entertainment, its location gives you easy access to all the post-concert fun you could want.

What People Say

Reviews consistently praise the Lincoln House Private Hotel for its friendly staff, historic charm, and great location. Guests love the peaceful setting after a busy night out and highlight the excellent breakfast and clean, spacious rooms. Many reviewers also appreciate the sense of character and personal touch that’s hard to find in larger hotels.

Areas for Improvement

Parking can be a bit of a squeeze—limited spaces mean you might need to use the nearby unrestricted street parking. There’s also no elevator, which may be a consideration for guests with mobility issues. And while the decor is full of charm, it may feel a bit traditional for fans of ultra-modern design.

The Bottom Line

A charming, peaceful stay in a prime Cardiff location—Lincoln House Private Hotel is a top choice for concert-goers who want character, comfort, and walkable convenience.

It’s a nice place, usual...

Liked: It’s a very nice areaCheck in was slick
Disliked: Prices massively inflated for Oasis. For £400 a night it wouldn’t have been a big effort to provide new soaps, bottles of water and maybe pushing the boat out here a bottle of wine etc. I know these events don’t come round often - but if you’re charging a premium you need to provide the service. Also the bed was very small

Warm friendly, happy and very...

Liked: Beautiful property with so many period features. Ceilings were high it just felt incredibly open. Parking was great and rare to find in city hotels! The pictures don’t truly show how grand this building is! Loved it! It was so close to Blackweir fields which is the venue of the gig we came for, but also Cardiff castle!
Disliked: I can’t find a single negative.

In our opinion this is...

Liked: Good breakfast with good choice (eg. fresh fruit) and friendly service. Closeness to city centre, restaurants and attractions. Car parking.
Disliked: In our opinion:- this is not a hotel (as described), it's a B&B, and in our experience an expensive one. Prices vary a lot and were significantly increased on a night there was a concert in town. The shower/toilet room was very cramped and the door would not shut properly. Wi-Fi was variable.

Great Stay in a beautiful...

Liked: Nothing to complain about, the room was great, nice staff, building itself is very pretty and historical (victorian style).I also appreciate that we got some biscuits, varierty of hot drinks to prepare with the kettle in the room (tea, coffee, hot cocolate).Breakfast is delicious, you have a few options to choose from, and it is prepared at the moment you order (you also get either coffe or tea), additionaly, you can have some granola, cereals, fruit salad and juice. Location is great, very close to Principality Stadium, but neighborhood is very quiet and pretty with easy communication by buses.PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE TO BUY THE BISCUITS!!
Disliked: Price could have been a bit cheaper, but since there was a huge event (Lana's del Rey concert), I guess prices were higher.
