L'Hermitage Hotel

Beautiful, large rooms. Huge 5 piece bath with a deep soaking tub and separate water closet. Modern fixtures and beautifully updated. The balcony is very large, with enough room for a table and 4 chairs and still plenty of room to walk around. My husband loved the in room espresso machine and I loved the electric kettle for making tea. The food was also excellent! This will be the only place we stay from now on.

Liked: Every thing and everyone perfect location for exploring Vancouver very close to the train station so no problem getting here from the airport. Lovely rooms super showers x breakfast was delicious
Disliked: Not really the property but the tipping is so confusing for us Europeans. We are not sure what to do how much to leave .. and it kind of takes away from staying in nice places as you feel you are paying rather than rewarding good service as you feel you have to leave tips even at breakfast which I have never done before but I stress it’s my first time in Canada and I am unsure …

Superb

Liked: The staff were exceptional from check in, to help with the luggage, to the restaurant and bar. Exceptional.
Disliked: The aircon turned on and off all night making sleep in that gorgeous bed very interrupted.

Disliked: Need to find an alternative to giving out all those plastic bottles of water - a lovely touch but not environmentally friendly! Not one of the Rocky Mountaineer pick up hotels.

Best hotel in Vancouver-excellent service

Liked: Excellent staff who all went out of their ways to attend to all our requests and beyond. We were offered tea coffee and use of bathroom facilities on early arrival and again until 10pm when we had to wait for our 2am flight. The food at the restaurant was very good and the restaurant manager was courteous and super attentive which made the meal that much more enjoyable. We loved the swimming pool and the jacuzzi. The hotel is centrally located but very quiet and cosy.
