Not bad, but definitely not...

Liked: I liked the overall aesthetic of the property, the entry/ lobby area especially
Disliked: As lovely as the space and the staff were, there were quite a few things about the property, that I didn’t enjoy and based on my experience, I don’t necessarily feel the exceptional rating is warranted1) location was OK in terms of proximity to downtown yet. I learned quickly that the neighbourhood felt a bit sketchy-went out for a walk to check out the neighbourhood on the evening of my arrival, only to feel uncomfortable, as a black truck with blacked out windows drove slowly passed by me twice within a very short time frame2) booked a deluxe suite to have a kitchenette, which was all well and good unfortunately, the suite I was given faced the entrance driveway, with windows facing it, plus the pool, all areas which were travelled regularly by guest during my stay. This meant the only option for privacy was to have the blackout blinds down the majority of the time, which really took away from enjoying the space.I did ask to switch rooms, if it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience and was informed there wasn’t a room available the first night, but would likely be available the second night. I didn’t bother myself to follow up nor did anybody reach out to me to let me know if that was even an option after the fact3) the rules. I was very happy to receive the rules abide by the rules and so on and so forth. though in the rules that were forwarded multiple times before arrival, there was a stipulation with regards to not allowing groups larger than four.“2. Les Cactus does not cater to large groups. Guests travelling in groups larger than 4 people will have their reservations cancelled upon check-in without refund.”I, travelling as a solo traveller, took comfort in that rule.

Very good

Liked: Room was clean and large. Bed is comfortable. Staff was nice. Free parking. Hammocks by the fountain with areas to relax.
Disliked: Pool was dirty. Small black beetles that resembled ticks floating all over it. You purchase drinks here and are not allowed to bring your own but it is stated so be aware of that. Attention to detail is lacking. Bathroom in the king suite has rust around the shower window. The entry door to our room had a hellish, cringy scream. It could be lubricated in ten seconds.
