The Spotlight on Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh - Formerly Jurys Inn

Modern Comfort in Edinburgh's Historic Heart

Stylish and centrally located, Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh - Formerly Jurys Inn puts you right in the middle of the action. Nestled in the Old Town just off the Royal Mile, this hotel blends classic Edinburgh charm with modern design. It's less than a 5-minute walk from Waverley Train Station—perfect for getting in, getting settled, and getting to the show.

Why Concert-goers love it

With major venues a short stroll away, you can skip the taxi queue and walk to gigs with ease. The hotel’s central location means you’re never far from the music—and the post-show comfort. Late check-out at 12:00 PM gives you time to sleep in after a big night, and the nearby train station makes late-night travel a breeze. Despite being in a lively area, guests report surprisingly quiet rooms thanks to thoughtful soundproofing.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends wanting to explore the city between sets
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert
  • Couples turning a gig into a romantic weekend
  • Fans seeking a peaceful place to crash after the encore
  • Budget-minded concert-goers wanting value and location

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s restaurant serves an international dinner menu, while the bar offers snacks, lunch, and proper coffee—ideal for a pre-concert bite or a late return snack. While there’s no 24/7 room service, there are plenty of eateries around the Royal Mile that stay open late. Breakfast is available on-site, even if you roll in a little later than usual.

Nightlife Options

You're steps from some of Edinburgh’s most popular bars and pubs. Whether you’re into traditional whisky lounges or modern cocktail spots, you’ll find something nearby. While the hotel doesn’t host live music on-site, its central location means you can find a venue with a quick walk.

What People Say

Guests love the spacious rooms, especially the comfy Dream beds and sleek bathrooms with spa-like toiletries. The location is a consistent highlight—close to everything, but peaceful inside. Many reviewers also mention the helpful staff and the ease of arriving via Waverley Station.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the decor could feel a little generic compared to the historic surroundings. Also, while the bar menu is decent, more late-night food options on-site would be a plus for post-gig cravings.

The Bottom Line

A smart pick for concert-goers wanting modern comfort and unbeatable location right in the heart of Edinburgh’s cultural scene.

Awful experience, look for alternatives!

Liked: Location and staff were friendly
Disliked: One of the worst hotel experiences I've had, thankfully only stayed there one night. Bed was broken on one side (I realised as I was going to sleep, construction noise, gym was closed as it was being used as a storage room for construction and the price was high.Worst four star hotel I've seen. Google ratings are closer reflection to the reality. Look elsewhere!

非常糟糕的体验

Liked: Actually really close to the train station. Breakfast is great.
Disliked: First i could understand the hotel is under construction. But that's so unacceptable to arrange the room for us that next to the operatin area. I don't understand why the such professional hotel do this. When we went back to the room for taking rest i even couldn't find the door in the dust……can u imagine this. After my complaint they changed a room for me and as i asking for checking out later in 3 hours.Second the per night for the room is under£200,when i checked in the staff ask me yo pai more and £600 for two nights…… logically can make this kind of mistake? I am confused if the price of the room is should be clearly known by the receptionist……and the staff said they haven't found my booking……until i show my APP to her… The last day i was asked to pai the extra money for my second night again when i asked for help…still the same situation as i checking in……… Even they offering extra time as compensation for my to stay in the hotel. That's still unpleasant experience for me……i changed my schedule in Edinburgh for this what I've been went through.

Excellent location, comfortable room, good...

Liked: A comfortable room, good bathroom. Breakfast was good, even though the hotel was catering for a large number of people. Staff welcoming and helpful.
Disliked: Lots of scaffolding around and noise at the back where our room was. Otherwise good.
