The Spotlight on Leonardo Hotel Inverness

Relaxed Comfort Just Outside the City Buzz

Modern and welcoming, the Leonardo Hotel Inverness offers a calm retreat just 20 minutes on foot from Inverness Railway Station and a quick 15-minute drive from Inverness Airport. With easy access to the city’s music venues, plus perks like free parking, a full leisure center, and a cozy bar, this hotel blends convenience with comfort for concert-goers who like to unwind in style.

Why Concert-goers love it

Whether you're catching a gig in the city center or heading to a festival near Loch Ness, this hotel is well-placed to get you there hassle-free. The free parking is a big plus for road-trippers, and with Inverness Station just 1 mile away, late-night train options are within reach. After the show, relax in the steam room or hot tub, or grab a nightcap at the bar. The hotel’s 12:00 check-out time means you can sleep in and recover without feeling rushed.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a base with spa perks and shared amenities
  • Solo travelers catching that once-in-a-lifetime tour
  • Couples turning a concert into a full weekend escape
  • Fans who prefer a quieter space to recharge post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who appreciate value and free parking

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s contemporary restaurant serves a globally inspired dinner menu, and the lounge bar offers cocktails, coffee, and light bites—ideal for a quick pre-show snack or a relaxed post-gig unwind. While there's no 24/7 room service, the bar stays open late enough to suit most night owls. Breakfast is also available, which is perfect if you're recovering from a late night.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, it’s close to Inverness’s pubs and venues for those looking to keep the night going. The on-site bar is a low-key spot to debrief with friends over a drink. For more action, local nightlife is just a short cab ride or brisk walk away.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean rooms, and the unexpected bonus of the spa and pool facilities. Many mention the hotel’s handy location for both city events and Highland adventures. The Dream beds are frequently praised for a great night’s sleep after loud concerts.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers found the decor a little dated in places, and while the walk to town is doable, it’s not ideal for those wanting to be right in the center of action. The restaurant gets busy pre-show, so booking ahead is a smart move.

The Bottom Line

Leonardo Hotel Inverness is a solid, comfy choice for concert-goers who want spa perks, easy access to venues, and a quiet place to crash after the encore.

Ideal location for Inverness and...

Liked: Reception team all welcoming and helpful. All staff were friendly and professional. Nice bar menu and tasty well presented food.
Disliked: Noise from adjacent road but earplugs solved it.

Disappointing

Liked: Breakfast was adequate.Staff were pleasant and breakfast staff very niceRoom was 'made up' daily which is not always the case
Disliked: Plumbing noise in en suite very noisy and we were told all rooms suffered from the same problem.Maintenance of bathroom was poor, too difficult to get soap and shampoo from bottles, we bought some soap locally

Not a hotel I'd use...

Liked: The room was clean and comfortable.
Disliked: The staff were friendly but there simply weren't enough of them. I was travelling with my wife and mother-in-law. My mother-in-law's evening meal was delivered cold and had to be returned. Only one person was on the bar serving drinks, cocktails and taking food orders. A large queue built up. The queue got told the kitchen could no longer take food orders for 30 mins as a minibus had come in that they needed to cater for. Presumably someone knew a minibus was.expected and could have staffed accordingly? They didn't just turn up unannounced? Breakfast was no better and, though notionally self-service, the kitchen staff struggled to cope with the small number of food orders that did come in. My wife and I had long finished breakfast before my mother-in-law's poached eggs were delivered. (These had been ordered as soon as we'd found a table.) We had in fact given up on them and I cancelled them as we were about to leave when they suddenly came out the kitchen. I felt so sorry for the junior members of staff who got left constantly delivering bad news.
