Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Carole, Belfast, visiting Ulster Hall Mon, 13 March 2023

Decided to eat in the hotel as the weather was bad. Only suitable food for vegan/vegetarians was a cold salad at £13 so ordered two with hot chips. When it arrived it was just a bowlful of cos lettuce and a small spoon of avocado, not even fresh! The waitress apologised profusely for a salad that any Chef should be ASHAMED to present in a well known respected hotel. When we asked for more variety in the salad and an egg it appeared with a dressing, a small amount of tomato and lots of raw onion. At the most what was given to us would cost less than £1 each. With hindsight, if the waitress hadn't been so apologetic and staff in the bar so kind and understanding I should have made an almighty fuss and demanded my £26 back. So my advice if you prefer not to eat meat or fish and want a hot meal, don't eat at Leonardo. Two extremely disappointed ladies, left feeling hungry, for an extremely good concert in the Ulster Hall.

Disliked: Expected a twin room not a bed settee.

Superb

Liked: Staff very friendly. Hotel is immaculate and the beds are very comfortable
Disliked: It was 20 degrees when we stayed and the room was stifling. No air con or fan in the room. Windows only open a crack for safety and we needed to shut the curtains for privacy. Very uncomfortable sleep due to the heat.

Good but could be better…

Liked: Excellent location perfect for places to shop/eat and explore the city it’s central and close to everything. the staff on reception were really friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, good choice of hot and cold items and nice coffee.
Disliked: Unfortunately my room was not cleaned during my stay, I had to go looking for housekeeping each day to get fresh towels and rubbish taken away despite being out all day from 8am by time I returned around 4.30/5pm no sign of anyone being in the room to clean or leave supplies. The bed was really hard and mattress sunken they could be doing with a refresh. Overall cleanliness of room not good, found old muffin wrappers under the bed and a lot of dust. Shame as the rooms are a good size and could be lovely. Bathrooms are quite dated but fine for what I needed.

Will stay again, reception helpful,...

Liked: I went for breakfast around 10am, little choice left. Haven't anything positive to say, unwelcoming staff and atmosphere.
Disliked: Little left with regard to pastries, used gluten free granola, couldn't find alternative. Asked where to find cups for drink machine ( wasn't obvious) asked a mature, female member of breakfast staff who from facial expression and body language did not want to be there, she just walked me around the counter and pointed.
