Overall good
Liked: Big spacious room, friendly staff, pretty quiet during night, pretty central (don't forget Edinburgh is not flat!), lots of convenience stores nearby.
Disliked: Shower was poor, and being on top floor in summer and hotel not having Aircon as it's a listed building, it was uncomfortably warm. Windows only could open a fraction due to safety, and the budget fans just blow hot air round. Overall would stay again but not during warmer months.

Exceptional
Liked: The staff was really kind and helped us a lot. From giving us tips on how to get around the city, to helping us locate a bag that was left on a random taxi, and did it all with a smile!

Great place and well located.
Liked: The facilities were great. The room was more spacious and better maintained than what showed in the pictures. The stadd was super friendly and helpful. Specially Vikrant, from the breakfast crew.
Disliked: The cost per night was very stippy. I imagine that it's because there were several festivals happening during that weekend and also besause of Oasis concert. Additionally, it would've beed great to have an minifridge in the room as well.

Very nice, comfortable and quite...
Liked: We liked the hotel, the building and its history. I could imagine myself walking up those stairs 100 years ago. The room was comfortable and spacious. It had all what we needed for our stay. I will highly recommend it but book well in advance to get better price.
Disliked: It is located a bit further from the vibe of the old town but you can get there by walking 15-20 minutes. I wish the price was a bit lower, though we came in a very high season and I booked it just a month in advance.

Very good
Liked: The room is spacious. The hotel is clean. A walkable distance from the main attractions in the city (during the festival days).
Disliked: Edinburgh is one of the most expensive cities during the festival days, at least. We paid the price of a five-star hotel for facilities typically found in a three-star hotel. This is not specific to this hotel, but to all central and near-centre accommodations in Edinburgh.

Great location for a short...
Liked: The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They even The location was pretty good, just a few minutes walk from the Grassmarket. Breakfast was great
Disliked: No aircon in our room and unfortunately no parking, although they do have an area to allow bag drop off.

We overall enjoyed our stay,...
Liked: The arcitecture of the building was very cute. The hotell was near the city centre, so we could walk pretty much everywere. The staff at the hotell was very nice.
Disliked: The daily cleaning service was not very good. The teacups in our room were never switched out/cleaned, even though they clearly were used. And overall the cleanliness of the room was not that good, many stains everywere, and we also found a lot of dust bunnies on exposed areas on the carpet.
