Awful smell, very old hotel

Liked: Nice stuff at the reception
Disliked: This hotel was a major letdown. The entire property is extremely old and clearly neglected. The room had a strong, musty odor—likely due to mold—which made it feel unhealthy and hard to spend time in. The condition of the bedding was unacceptable, with sheets that had holes in them, adding to the overall sense of poor hygiene.The room and hallway were both full of visible wear and tear—scratches on walls, damaged fixtures, and a general feeling of decay. On top of that, construction in the garden began at 6 AM on a weekend, making it absolutely impossible to rest or enjoy any peace.This is not a place I would recommend. Until serious renovations and improvements are made, I’d advise looking elsewhere.

Fine for 1 night, but...

Liked: Location - 10 mins to underground/subway station, 15 min walk to English garden/Eisbach, 20/25 min walk to Marienplatz.Fridge in the room was useful to keep our water and drinks cool. Friendly staff
Disliked: 1. We are a couple and I asked in advance and confirmed on booking.com that having a double bed was needed. They had 2 single beds pushed together but it was not suitable for us. The beds kept moving apart and it was uncomfortable. We tried to ask for something different but were told that the room with a double mattress was much smaller and didn't feel this was fair for the price we paid. For this reason we wouldn't stay here again.2. We were here for 3 nights and after spending all day exploring the city we were tired and wanted to have a couple of hours wafching TV in the evening before we went to sleep. The TV didn't offer English channels or apps we could log in to which was annoying. The information on my booking said that Sky was available but they weren't. The TV was also badly placed in the room as it didn't face the bed and there was a wall lamp blocking the view. We ended up just using our tablet.3. Shower and bathroom - awful shower. Not powerful at all. 1 night would have been fine but 3 nights here with a weak shower really had an impact on my hair which is long and thick. Getting shampoo out of my hair felt like a workout. The bathroom also didn't have a proper door which I really hated. It was a glass door with stripes but you could hear, see and smell everything. Really lacked privacy. I didn't undersrand a glass door for a bathroom at all.4. The room we were given was an upgrade. It was called a Junior Suite and whilst we liked it for the size, we were 2 people and they gave us 3 single beds and the layout of the room was just strange. The furniture was badly placed. There was a metal pole/pillar in the middle of the room, the TV was on a part of the wall that meant you couldn't see it properly, the bathroom had a glass see through door, the third bed was opposite the bathroom so if there was a third person staying in the room they would be able to see everything.

Good hotel with great staff...

Liked: Location was great for the reason I was there. The breakfast was excellent. Plenty of variety and breakfast room staff are attentive and helpful. Front desk staff are excellent
Disliked: The Saturday night party at the apartment house behind the hotel. Not their fault but a room at the front would have been better if staying the weekend

Rather uncomfortable stay at perfect...

Liked: Location of the property.
Disliked: Room was too cramped, lack of privacy when using the bathroom (there were separate shower and other bathroom facilities), there was no balcony, no mini bar, no fridge, there was barely enough parking space sat for three cars making it extremely hard to enter and exit the parking lot-even though there was an extra charge for using it,breakfast was rather poor lacking variety.
