The Spotlight on Lenox Hotel and Suites

Historic Charm Steps from Buffalo's Music Scene

The Lenox Hotel and Suites blends timeless character with modern convenience in Buffalo’s vibrant Allentown neighborhood. As the city’s oldest continuously operating hotel, this 1896 gem delivers vintage vibes and easy access to local music venues, bars, and restaurants. With free off-street parking, in-room microwaves and fridges, and a central location just minutes from downtown, it's a solid home base for music lovers exploring the city.

Why Concert-goers love it

Located in the heart of Allentown and a quick ride to the city’s top venues, this hotel is a favorite for concert-goers who want to stay close to the action without the late-night noise. You’ll find plenty of bars and late-night eateries just steps away, and the vibe is friendly but low-key—perfect for winding down after a high-energy show. While check-in isn't super late (starts at 2:00 PM), the central location and historic charm make it worth it.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends who want to stay near nightlife without splurging on downtown prices
- Solo travelers catching a bucket-list show
- Couples looking for a romantic, vintage weekend
- Fans who prefer a quieter space to relax after a concert
- Budget-conscious music lovers who want charm and location

Food and Drink Options

While the hotel doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, its prime location means you’re surrounded by local favorites for late-night bites. Many eateries within walking distance stay open after shows, so you won’t go hungry. Rooms come with microwaves and mini-fridges for easy snacking, and breakfast spots are plentiful nearby for a slow morning after a late night.

Nightlife Options

Allentown is one of Buffalo’s liveliest neighborhoods, with plenty of bars, lounges, and live music venues within walking distance. Whether you're into dive bars, cocktail lounges, or local brews, you’ll find something to suit your post-concert vibe. The hotel itself is quiet, making it a good place to crash after a night out.

What People Say

Reviews consistently highlight the historic charm and unbeatable location. Guests love the easy access to both downtown and Allentown nightlife, the friendly staff, and the value for money. Many note the building’s character and vintage feel as a unique draw. The free parking also gets a big thumbs-up.

Areas for Improvement

The building’s age means no wheelchair access and some quirks—like needing to climb stairs to enter (though there is an elevator inside). Some guests mention that the rooms are a bit dated, but most agree that the charm outweighs the minor inconveniences. If you're after modern luxury, this might not be your spot—but if you love history and location, it delivers.

The Bottom Line

A character-filled stay in Buffalo’s artsy Allentown district, perfect for concert-goers who want charm, walkability, and a quiet place to recharge.

Lyssa, Hamilton, visiting Town Ballroom

The front desk staff were very accommodating and helpful. We came from out of the country after working overnights for the night to see a concert and the staff let us get our room earlier than expected and were very friendly. The room was small but perfect and I loved the look of the hotel and the old school feel.

Liked: The customer service and look of the hotel.
Disliked: Nothing.

Amy, Erie, visiting Town Ballroom

We absolutely loved it overall. Staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. We will definitely stay again!

Liked: Reminded me of American Horror Story Hotel Cortez - I loved how original it was. Impresssed with the ceiling height. How thick and heavy the bathroom door was and actually used a real key!
Disliked: Scalding hot shower - no cold water what so ever.

Very good

Disliked: The owner is very controlling. They have a note limiting small breakfast sandwiches to one per customer, which I have never seen in a hotel. And the owner is pretending that he is watching TV, circulating around the breakfast area to see what you are eating.
