The Spotlight on Lemon Tree Inn

Tropical Vibes Just Minutes from Santa Barbara’s Music Scene

Modern yet relaxed, the Lemon Tree Inn is a charming hotel nestled in the heart of Santa Barbara. Surrounded by a lush one-acre tropical courtyard and featuring a refreshing outdoor pool, it offers a quiet retreat that's still close to all the action. Each room comes with free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen cable TV, and many offer private balconies or lanais with courtyard views—ideal for winding down after a show.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert fans appreciate the Lemon Tree Inn’s easy access to local venues while being tucked just far enough away to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep. The hotel’s flexible 3:00 PM check-in time is ideal for travelers arriving just in time for a show, and the calm courtyard atmosphere makes it a great place to recover post-performance. Free parking and proximity to rideshare routes make late-night transport easy and affordable.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a comfortable, affordable base between gigs
  • Solo travelers on a musical pilgrimage
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of a concert night
  • Fans who want quiet after a loud night
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want style and comfort

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Crocodile Restaurant is a favorite for both locals and guests, serving up a mix of Italian and Californian dishes. The bar serves drinks late, and there's room service available for those late-night cravings. While 24/7 dining isn't offered, the restaurant hours accommodate most post-show appetites, and downtown Santa Barbara’s food scene is a short drive or Uber away. Breakfast is also available, perfect for a slow morning after a big night.

Nightlife Options

While there’s no on-site live music, the Lemon Tree Inn puts you close to Santa Barbara’s vibrant nightlife. Whether you're heading to a nearby concert venue or bar-hopping downtown, you'll find plenty of music, drinks, and late-night energy within easy reach. The hotel bar offers chill vibes and a solid cocktail list if you’re keeping it low-key.

What People Say

Guests love the tropical courtyard and say it's a peaceful oasis after an exciting night out. Many mention the clean, spacious rooms, the friendly staff, and the great value for the location. The pool and garden views get frequent shout-outs as a highlight for post-concert relaxation.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the décor could use a refresh in certain rooms, and soundproofing isn’t perfect—though it’s generally quiet thanks to the location. Also, while the location is central, it’s not walkable to all venues, so having a car or rideshare app is helpful.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers who want a relaxing, affordable stay with tropical flair and easy access to Santa Barbara’s music scene, Lemon Tree Inn hits all the right notes.

Jennifer, Washington DC

Very pleasant stay. Loved the individual private balconies. Loved the hydro spa. Loved the tapenade and the toast points - excellent. Wish I had known about the Ralphs around the corner sooner and the stores and other facilities that were just up the road, especially the local massueses - they should list themselves at the front desk. I would definitely stay there again even without a car now I know the bus routes. I did leave a flower arrangement I had made from sunflowers bought at Ralphs and a few bougainvillea and green leaves I had picked from your own gardens. Much more appropriate and bright and cheerful than irises which do not last very long. And I think greenery, maybe a plant, with one bougainvillea blossom, would be better on the tables than inexpensive 'mums' etc.

Liked: Front desk people were very helpful, especially Obi who came up with maps etc. Helped me with my Ipad and Iphone at length!
Disliked: I found the restaurant very dark.

Great place to stay in...

Liked: Pool was great. My room was great.
Disliked: However my family got the WORST room even though they stayed for 3 nights. It was small and dark with a small deck out front. You almost gave them the very worst room - with no deck - but changed to this one because I begged. and their bathroom was not very clean.

Beautiful courtyard and pool area...

Liked: The pool and courtyard looked lovely. The room was spacious. The bathroom was spacious. The bed was comfortable.
Disliked: One of our rooms was not updated. There was a stain on the carpet. The room seemed a bit tired. Our balcony was on a corner with another balcony and we could hear the people from the other room and their conversations. We did not want to go on the balcony when they were there because we were right on top of each other. The other room our family had was updated and in a better location - wished we had a room like that.

Pass on the Lemon Tree...

Liked: The beds were nice and comfy.
Disliked: The floor was filthy. Our socks were black with dirt after a couple of minutes inside. The walls were also filthy. A lampshade was taped to the wire and fell off constantly. No phone, no info on the hotel for us, like menus or restaurants or room service, which they claim to have. The patio door was broken so we were unable to access our patio. Homeless encampment on the other side of a fence. We were accosted twice by some impaired folks, which was horrible. Yelling and screaming at us, for no reason. The pass key to our unit opened others, not safe at all.No water!!! One of the great things about this place, as this was our second time, was a tiki bar. Not open. Spent $1000 for 4 nights. Front desk was clueless and literally didn't know what to say. We didn't make a big deal, but definitely, don't stay here.
