Good honest property with pleasant...

Ghost Hotel--stay at your caution

Liked: The room was spacious and comfortable for two people.
Disliked: The communication with this property was unsatisfactory. Three nights prior to our stay, we received a message on Booking.com asking if we were really coming. Since the hotel was non-refundable, and I had not indicated a change in plan, this surprised me. I replied within five hours confirming my stay and saying that I would be arriving late at 9pm due to other plans. I received no response to this. If, at this point, the property had explained that nobody would be there to check me in, but given me a gate code and a way to get into my room, I would not be writing this review. However, I received no such message, and when my mother and I arrived at 9pm, the gates were locked, the adjacent restaurant was shuttered and nobody picked up the phone. I waited for 30 minutes on Booking.com's customer review helpline with no response. My mother is almost 80 years old and needs to take night-time medicines that make her dizzy. Eventually, someone from the hotel did call back, but they spoke no English, and finally, another couple staying at the hotel, who had been out for a walk, came by and took pity upon us. They gave us the gate code and told us that they also had had trouble checking in and to try the rooms in the hotel (open front door), to see if one was open with the key inside, as that is what had eventually worked for them. After walking in on another couple in their room (oops), we found our room unlocked with the key inside. As stated on this review, the room was very comfortable, and I have no complaints. The next morning, the owner was inside the breakfast room, and I am pretty certain he knew from the phone calls about our scary check-in situation. He offered no apology, and stood behind us while we ate. I have learned from this experience to ask directly if a human being runs the desk who speaks multiple languages.

A great out of town...

Liked: Communication prior to arrival was excellent and free parking available on site. Room was spacious with large bathroom. It was hot during our stay so the AC, window blinds and mini fridge were much appreciated. The property is in a residential area but the Restaurant & Bar associated with the property are literally next door and offered a wonderful menu, excellent range of wines and atmosphere. Would highly recommend!Tram to Montpellier and beyond stops a short walk up the road offering a regular and efficient service - just use the app to buy a ticket before you board as there are random checks.

Great location with free parking

Liked: Free parking and tram station nearby - we really appreciated that. Our room was very spacious with comfortable beds
Disliked: We didn’t meet anyone at the reception for checking in and checking out. But everything is explained via email. Breakfast is included but there is no big choice it’s a plate with jam, bread, hot drink and orange juice

Out of town small hotel

Liked: Outside the city centre, quiet and close to tram line. Small but clean room. Receptionist available throughout stay seemed very pleasant.
Disliked: Restaurant wasn't open on the weekend and the breakfast was very basic but adequate.Not many places to eat within walking distance.
