Overall a comfortable hotel with its own faded charm.

Liked: The hotel is very small (8 rooms) across 4 floors of a tall narrow building and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is in a good location, a few yards from La Canbiere and 10 minutes walk from the Old Port. The street is a bit scruffy but is quiet and felt perfectly safe. Breakfast is served overlooking a small planted courtyard and consists of the usual French fare with the addition of Moroccan pancakes which are delicious with honey. The room was quite large with painted walls and a tiled floor and three shuttered windows.
Disliked: The bath is not particularly easy to climb in and out of and the toilet is located in a separate room. The room was a bit scruffy, and could have been cleaner. There is no lift and visitors who have difficulty with stairs need to beware - your room might be up 4 flights of stairs!

We did enjoy our stay and found Marseille to be a fascinating place

Liked: Breakfast, room was very clean and had all we required, towels and linens were changed regularly. The man on reception for the majority of the time was very helpful. Its near La Canabiere and very convenient for the vieux port and other sites.
Disliked: We were given the ground floor room for our first night, which was dark, we felt unable to open the windows and generally felt uncomfortable , although the room itself had all we needed. We had been told we would move the following day, but the man on reception was very unwilling to do so, and only did do so after we persisted. The room on the fourth floor was clean and airy , quite small ( yes it was standard room, the photos show other more spacious rooms) not a good beginning, but we felt more comfortable as the week progressed. The communal areas could do with refurbishment, chipped paint may be the Moroccan style, but not necessarily so. It looked tired, plants outside the main door were dead. First impressions count. The patio garden was lovely, but again needed a bit of attention.

Super unique and fun stay! Staff was very friendly!

Liked: This room was so cool and a great chance from the typical French hotel. There was plenty of room for us in the space!
Disliked: No curtain on our shower so water got everywhere.
