Liked: Lovely public areas, bar food was good, staff were friendly. Room was fine but a bit musty.
Disliked: A second person at check in would have been helpful as a big wedding party just got in ahead of myself and another guest so we had to wait about 20 mins to check in.

Disliked: Me and my partner got served the wrong starter each, and then him the main, we did address this after first course, but then main was then still wrong even though they assured us it would be correct at next course.The pillows on the bed are so flimsy and uncomfortable.The parking and entrance to the hotel is not clear enough. A few guests and ourselves at the event didn't know how to get into the venue.

Very disappointing

Liked: The food was lovely and the service in the restaurant was very good. The lady who looked after us was very friendly, efficient and clearly knows and loves her job.
Disliked: On arrival we were told that there was a lot of the venue including grounds and gardens that we were unable to use due to a wedding. This impacted our stay and if we had been told this on booking we would not have proceeded with the booking. The room itself was well appointed but had a stain on the carpet by the door and some sticky substance squashed into the carpet near the bathroom door. It was in need of a deep clean. We had a lovely balcony as part of the room which we were unable to enjoy as the music from the wedding was so loud we could not communicate with each other whilst outside. This went on until 12 midnight. Breakfast was horrendous. There were no tables set and when we asked for one to be cleared we were met with an eye roll response from the waitress. We had to wait over an hour for our hot food and even then it was wrong. It was sent back as it did not meet dietary requirements. By the time the right one had been brought out the other breakfast had been finished. The supplement for the salmon was waived due to the time we waited but that was the only recompense we were offered. We stay in a lot of hotels in the north east for leisure purposes and this was a hotel we were looking forward to visiting. We know what good service looks like. On this occasion we were made to feel that we were not as important as the wedding .
