Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, restaurant...

Liked: Check in was friendly and helpful and they made a dinner reservation for us.
Disliked: The bed! It was too hard and I felt like I had spent the night camped out on the hard ground. It wasn’t restful at all and I woke up with a sore back and neck.

Liked: Appreciate the neoclassical architecture that is showcased in the main building with the restaurant.

Beautiful building but a bit...

Liked: Lovely building, lots of history, spectacular windows and wood carvings.
Disliked: Had to ask to be able to see the building as the most beautiful parts are usually closed to the public. Also, it wasn't made clear to us when we checked in that to go to the bar you had to make a reservation! Seems like the bar is not really a part of the hotel, but I'm not 100% sure about that. It is very popular so there was always a queue out the door of non-resident people waiting to get in, hence no abbility to 'pop in' for a drink as a resident of the hotel. Also, although the bed was very comfortable, they didn't have a fitted bottom sheet on the bed, instead using flat sheets which then crumpled under your weight so not a taut fit like with a fitted sheet. Not sure why they would choose to do that? There was no one at the hotel entrance when we arrived to help us with our luggage and there were quite a few steps up to the front door. When we got to the check in desk they told us we could have used the elevator on the side entrance, but there was no such sign indicating that from the front entrance. Strange for a 5 star hotel and not easy if you were in need of assistance with luggage and steps.
