Liked: Le Citizen is a charming boutique hotel perfectly situated along the canal. You really walk out your door into everything here.We loved the neighborhood, so many great restaurants, bars and shops. Great for those who aren’t looking to stay near the more touristy parts of town.The room was tiny but well-designed for maximum functionality. The bed was comfy and we loved the windows you could open for the breeze. The shower was hot and strong and we loved the upscale soap and shampoo.The staff was super friendly and accommodating.
Disliked: Our only complaint was a strong deodorant smell that seemed to be masking something. I’m very sensitive to strong odors so this was off putting to me.

Liked: Unavailable to us because of construction.
Disliked: No warning about disruptive lobby construction. Weird bed arrangement preventing access to bed sides. No one at desk when we tried to check out. Missing shower mat = danger getting out of slippery shower. Poor Wi-Fi. Nice location though.

Liked: Our room was lovely overlooking the canal and larger than usual for Paris. We loved the area for great places to eat and still close to everything including the metro for further afield.
Disliked: The renovations made it awkward downstairs for reception and eating but I'm sure when they are finished it will be lovely.
