The Spotlight on Lansbury Heritage Hotel

Timeless Boutique Charm Near London's Music Scene

Modern comfort meets classic elegance at the Lansbury Heritage Hotel, a boutique retreat tucked away in historic Poplar, just a short walk from Canary Wharf and the DLR. With Victorian architecture and luxurious touches like L'Occitane toiletries and complimentary spa access, it’s a peaceful yet convenient base for music lovers heading to East London's biggest venues.

Why Concert-goers love it

Only a 15-minute drive from the O2 Arena, and with direct DLR links to Bank and central London, Lansbury Heritage Hotel puts you close to the action without the noise. After a high-energy night, guests appreciate the quiet surroundings and spa facilities—perfect for winding down. Flexible check-in from 15:00 and a calm vibe make it a great pick for post-show relaxation.

  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert at the O2
  • Couples turning a gig into a romantic weekend
  • Fans who want a more serene stay after the show
  • Budget-conscious travelers wanting boutique quality without the central London price tag

Food and Drink Options

While the on-site bar is open from 19:00 to 21:30 daily, there are plenty of local eateries within walking distance in Canary Wharf. Guests enjoy tea and coffee in-room, and mini-bars offer quick refreshments. Though there's no 24/7 room service, the area’s late-night dining options make up for it—ideal after a late encore.

Nightlife Options

Craving more after the main event? Nearby Canary Wharf offers stylish cocktail bars, riverside pubs, and lounges. While the hotel itself keeps things low-key, its location gives you access to both buzzing nightlife and a restful night’s sleep.

What People Say

Guests rave about the impeccably clean rooms, spa access, and friendly staff. Many mention how surprisingly tranquil the hotel is, especially given its proximity to major attractions. The convenient location for the O2 Arena is a consistent highlight in reviews.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests have noted that the on-site bar’s limited hours can be a downside if you're looking for a late-night drink. Also, breakfast isn't mentioned as a standout feature—something to keep in mind if you’re counting on a lie-in followed by a hearty meal.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers wanting a chic, quiet hideaway with easy access to London’s top music venues, Lansbury Heritage Hotel hits all the right notes.

Strange Place but clean and...

Liked: Very clean and the room was lovely.
Disliked: Had booked parking and told them it was a van in advance. When I turned up, there was no way it was going to fit. BE AWARE - THE CAR PARK IS VERY SMALL AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANOUVRE IN. I also had a parcel delivered for me which was lost for 24 hours but luckily found in the end. Plumbing needs an overhaul. All sorts of noises coming from it during the night and shower took an age to drain. My colleague had some very unpleasant smells coming from the shower tray in his room (Disabled room) Also we arrived back at 11:30pm after a long days work at an exhibition only to find we had been locked out with no way of getting in (even though they said it was manned 24/7). Luckily the restaurant downstairs was open so we went through the kitchen on a side street and was able to get to the lobby that way. Staff were friendly enough but it all seems rather chaotic and disorganised there.

I enjoyed my stay. We...

Liked: Breakfast was too basic and very limited. We had to wait for eggs everyday as they were never ready. Not enough bread, rolls and delicacies which would have made the breakfast perfect. You should improve on more food.
Disliked: I did not like presenting my ID to the reception as we are both U.K. citizens and we live in UK. I have already fully paid. I didn’t also like leaving a deposit. What was that for? We have stayed in five star high quality London hotels and deposit was never asked. It is not necessary for a small hotel. The room was too hot. The Air Con is not powerful enough. It keeps cutting out. No windows to open for fresh air.

Liked: Beautiful boutique hotel with a magical place in history. Difficult to believe this was someone's home. Staff very attentive especially Ernest Knox and loved Mansi's cheekiness. Even adapted to my specific breakfast needs and arrangements - thank you
Disliked: Cooling system struggled with the extreme heat 🥵.
