Timeless Boutique Charm Near London's Music Scene

Modern comfort meets classic elegance at the Lansbury Heritage Hotel, a boutique retreat tucked away in historic Poplar, just a short walk from Canary Wharf and the DLR. With Victorian architecture and luxurious touches like L'Occitane toiletries and complimentary spa access, it’s a peaceful yet convenient base for music lovers heading to East London's biggest venues.

Why Concert-goers love it

Only a 15-minute drive from the O2 Arena, and with direct DLR links to Bank and central London, Lansbury Heritage Hotel puts you close to the action without the noise. After a high-energy night, guests appreciate the quiet surroundings and spa facilities—perfect for winding down. Flexible check-in from 15:00 and a calm vibe make it a great pick for post-show relaxation.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish home base in East London
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert at the O2
  • Couples turning a gig into a romantic weekend
  • Fans who want a more serene stay after the show
  • Budget-conscious travelers wanting boutique quality without the central London price tag

Food and Drink Options

While the on-site bar is open from 19:00 to 21:30 daily, there are plenty of local eateries within walking distance in Canary Wharf. Guests enjoy tea and coffee in-room, and mini-bars offer quick refreshments. Though there's no 24/7 room service, the area’s late-night dining options make up for it—ideal after a late encore.

Nightlife Options

Craving more after the main event? Nearby Canary Wharf offers stylish cocktail bars, riverside pubs, and lounges. While the hotel itself keeps things low-key, its location gives you access to both buzzing nightlife and a restful night’s sleep.

What People Say

Guests rave about the impeccably clean rooms, spa access, and friendly staff. Many mention how surprisingly tranquil the hotel is, especially given its proximity to major attractions. The convenient location for the O2 Arena is a consistent highlight in reviews.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests have noted that the on-site bar’s limited hours can be a downside if you're looking for a late-night drink. Also, breakfast isn't mentioned as a standout feature—something to keep in mind if you’re counting on a lie-in followed by a hearty meal.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers wanting a chic, quiet hideaway with easy access to London’s top music venues, Lansbury Heritage Hotel hits all the right notes.

Not convinient.

Liked: The service and the property was very nice. I booked the most expensive room and there was no AC and it was a horrible experience as there was no air conditioning or any type of circulation. I was roasting in the room and I could not sleep a wink. The staff were nice and gave me a fan but the fan was broken at the bottom and wouldn’t stand straight.

I was roasting in the room and I could not sleep a wink. The staff were nice and gave me a fan but the fan was broken at the bottom and wouldn’t stand straight. The fan did not help and nor did the other things they suggested. I really don’t think a room is worth £170 when the AC is down.I will be contacting the team themselves and see what can be done. I will keep booking.com updated.

Liked: The hotel is a beautiful historical building and very well located.
Disliked: There was a problem with A/C, but staff was very accommodating. They moved my child and I into a cooler room, if there was no problem with AC, the stay would have been perfect.

Do not recommend - will...

Liked: The location was good and the spa (swedish full body massage) was incredible.
Disliked: Arrived at 15:45 when check in was stated as after 15:00 so we expected our room would be ready and after a 4 hour drive we were desperate to freshen up, except the room wasn't ready and we were told to wait. We waited 10 minutes and in that time given warm water as a gesture of good will... The room was okay but the shower was not that clean. It's also incredibly noisy at night, all through the night. Unsure whether that was guests or staff but resulted in us only getting approx 2 hours sleep. When fed back the member of staff on the desk agreed...!! It was also very hot in the room and the air con is poor and turns off after a certain amount of time. You're also only given one card so can't leave to let the room cool before returning as the card is needed for the electric. Also, note it says "free stay for your child" but if you want them to have a bed it's an extra £30...!! They took £75 on arrival and told me this was for parking and a deposit that they would return and yet on leaving they have taken another £55. When trying to contact them they say to phone but no one picks up the phone. I finally got an email response explaining the £55 is the £30 for the bed and £25 for car parking, so I asked for confirmation they would be refunding me the £75 and just get told to call despite no one answering the phone... Breakfast is very expensive for very poor quality. They water down the fruit juices, the coffee is poor and the Continental does not offer much choice and full English was awful. It also wasn't ready at 730 despite breakfast supposedly being ready for 7. Overall a really poor experience.
