Disliked: Our room was nice, but it faced the road where cars, people, and hotel staff were constantly passing by, so it wasn’t very peaceful during the day. During our stay, they cut the grass near the parking area, and our car trunks ended up completely covered in grass clippings. The bed was quite uncomfortable – when one person moved, the other could feel the whole bed shaking. The pillows were also very flat and lacked support. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the option to order room service was a big convenience. However, the breakfast was quite repetitive – if you don’t eat a full English breakfast, your only options were croissants or toast with ham and cheese, plus some fruit. The biggest disappointment was discovering that the spa, which was the main reason we booked the hotel, actually costs £85 per person per day. This was not mentioned anywhere on Booking.com. What is included for free is a large indoor pool with a jacuzzi and a sauna, but the chlorine smell was so strong it made our eyes water. The paid spa area is on a separate upper floor, and the outdoor infinity pool shown on Booking.com is actually very small – about 4 by 2 meters – and far from what the photos suggest. There are a few saunas, steam rooms, and a foot jacuzzi. The foot jacuzzi in particular was dirty and unpleasant to use. Even the robe smelled like used massage oil, which was off-putting. Overall, the hotel itself is nice and the surrounding nature is beautiful, but I was quite disappointed with the spa experience and the lack of transparency about the extra charges.

Liked: The room was good, food was great at the stove. The spa however, was very disappointing, terrible customer service, 4 of the amenities were out of order, getting drinks from the bar was draining, waiting at the bar for several minutes, awaiting an unenthusiastic member bartender to arrive was not ideal for an £85pp spa.
Disliked: Brimstone spa, as previously mentioned, over priced, poorly managed & no where near as luxury as the price tag would suggest.
