Enjoyable short stay in a...
Liked: A nice quiet residential location and a traditional (colonial-era) Australian dwelling. Slept very well (in the compact twin room) even though it was quite cold during our visit. Interesting application of breakfast, which was cereal/muesli (instant porridge as well), fresh fruit and milk (in the mini-fridge) plus tea/coffee. Soft drinks, beer & wine were available at reasonable prices. Enjoyed chatting with the Hosts.
Disliked: In the twin room there's limited space for luggage, if you're travelling heavy. It would be nice to have some fresh croissants / Danish pastries available for breakfast. Don't forget there's no ensuite bathrooms.

A comfortable stay in a...
Liked: The house is very comfortable. It's a stay in someone's lovely home. The breakfast was very good. The host is very welcoming, but without being intrusive. A great experience.
Disliked: I am a bit uncomfortable with a shared bathroom, for personal reasons. That was my misunderstanding when booking. But it didn't actually prove to be a problem in practical terms during my stay.

Beautifully furnished old house in...
Liked: Lakeside is a beautiful old house which has been lovingly extended and altered to provide B&B accommodation downstairs with the owners upstairs. Jan was very welcoming and there are some lovely common and garden areas for guests to use. My fault but I hadn´t realised the bathroom wasn´t ensuite and was shared but that did not turn out to be a problem for our 1 night. It was spotless and large with a great shower.
Disliked: Even though everyone tried to be quiet and considerate when coming through the main door whilst we were there, light sleepers need to be aware that the guest bedrooms are by the front door. We were disappointed that the breakfast supplied in our room was very basic. It would probably be better to advertise the room as having tea & coffee facilities rather than disappoint by calling it breakfast. The dining area was so lovely it was crying out for a nice breakfast.

Pretty and peaceful.
Liked: The accommodation was welcoming, peaceful and very comfortable. It felt very homely and sitting on the back veranda for breakfast was great - very pretty area especially with autumn leaves. Jan was very friendly and helpful with local advice. It was in a great location to restaurants and close to the city.
