Disliked: This is my 19th motel stay in the past six months and the FIRST that I've had any issues with so I'm baffled as to why my experience was so awful compared with reviews from last year (until September when on other sites they become negative). Actually, I had a reservation and paid for three nights but packed up and left after the first because it was so miserable. I'd made the reservation in January to meet up with friends for Easter weekend.The motel is very clean but the smell of disinfectant, cleaning products is overwhelming. First thing I did was turn off the heat and open the door to air out the room.The indoor pool water was freezing. When I asked the maintenance man if it was possible to turn up the heat just a little, he was EXTREMELY RUDE and said no it was set at 82. I said the water is about 72 (I have swam almost every day of my life for 50 years and am a pretty good judge of temperature.) He said, the thermometer says 82. OBVIOUSLY, the gauge is faulty -- something that was beyond his scope. He then turned his back on me and pranced off.The view of the lake from the room was beautiful but form does not follow function here!! There are no shelves or surfaces other than the bed or little table in either the bedroom or bathroom so you are constantly shifting stuff. And it is disarming to be under camera surveillance in such a rural setting -- and CREEPY. The motel also is in violation of several NYS health & safety requirements: from outdoor lighting that doesn't conform to the state's Dark Skies requirement to the unlocked door for the indoor pool, unmarked curbs and stairways etc.

Beautiful location on the lake.

Liked: The staff was fantastic, views are amazing, right on the waterfront, doesn't get much better than that. Would go back or recommend to anyone.

Good value & pleasant experience

Liked: Nice location (just over 10 minutes from Cooperstown center. Friendly staff. Spacious room. Nice cable/satellite TV with many premium channels.
Disliked: No more kayak rental (closed for the season) although weather was nice and warm.

Overall we enjoyed our stay...

Liked: Our room was clean and comfortable. The view of the lake and mountains was so nice. Only stayed 2 nights but would want to come back again.
Disliked: If only we could have had a little kitchen area, but since this is a motel the coffee maker and small fridge were nice.accessible ice on the premises also a plus.

It's groovy.

Liked: Spa and sauna were excellent.
Disliked: Pool closes early.Can hear all the neighbors packed in about us.Bright light above the door window.Power wires obstructing the view.
