A great-value location close to...

Liked: The location of this place is fantastic - within a short walking distance of the riverside walk and downtown. From the outside it looks like a parking structure but inside it's well-decorated, modern, clean and comfortable. Don't be put off by its outside appearance.
Disliked: My bank has a more open kiosk than this place. Reception is like visiting someone in jail. I guess they've had bad experiences in the past?

Do not stay here

Liked: Location was the best and free wi fi. Not much else to like, dirty horrible place and bad customer service.
Disliked: How the woman in the Office aka reception asked me to read oit my pin number tonpay for the parking in front of other customers, yes multiple times too as she kept entering the wrong number. She refused to allow me to enter it myself or write it down. Dirty filthy rooms, cigarette burnt bed sheets, stained bathroom, stained sheets. Dirty dive. Pay more and stop somewhere better.

Cute but only if you're...

Liked: The hotel was in the center of many local restaurants and local shops away from the hustle and bustle of the river walk area. The pricing was cheap and the room was clean, but could have been in better quality cleaning conditions as per our years of cleaning expertise.
Disliked: The staff, although, to the point and attentive, for the most part, needed more hospitable customer service skills. A busniess, no matter what it is, thrives and is successful when great customer service is provided. Perhaps the hotel could renovate a little bit more to make the stay more attractive; for example, removing the carpet and installing other type of wooden or tile flooring. The hallway smelled aerosol-like but I am sure it was the dated stale smell of the carpet. The parking was cheap, at ten dollars a day; however, guests or visitors were not allowed in the rooms. We understand the hotel is trying to keep the stay peaceful keeping in mind hotel guests safety and security as well as respect and courtesy for others. The toilet paper was a constant issue and the towels were low quality. Perhaps investing in better products for the rooms would alleviate the nuisance of having to ask for more toilet paper or better quality towels. The bedsheets, although clean, came with cigarette burns and the staff was made aware of it the first day we got there, however, the sheets were not changed; housekeeping had left even though they were made aware of it beforehand. The second time we asked for room service to replace the sheets the second sheets along with bedding, although clean, had small cigarette burns...again. La Villita Inn is completely non-smoking which we appreciated, but investment in new sheets and bed comforters would help tremendously. The room was spacious and could have used a small lounge chair or mini sofa or other small type furniture to place items; perhaps even a small round table with a chair or two. The location of the AC unit was away from the main bed and furniture and although that helped, when taking a shower and getting out the air hits you right away. The bathtub looked like it needed a good scrubbing and the wall in the bathroom needed cleaning.
