Hotel Description
Set in a beautiful village this listed residence with granite facades dating from the mid-16th-century welcomes you in an historic setting. Each of the 5 guest rooms at the La Tour du Lion evokes a specific period through refined decoration. Hence a four-poster queen bed with royal ermine patterns in the Anne de Bretagne room or woodwork gildings and eagles in the Emperor's room. Just outside the property a stunning garden faithfully maintains the tradition of this flowering city.

We shall return to be...

Liked: I inadvertently booked a room with a bath and no shower unit which was not ideal for my wife or me given that we both had had relatively new hips! Without any fuss, the proprietor up-graded us for the following two nights to a splendid room (Louis X1V) overlooking the very quiet square and with a shower in which we could swing two cats! The breakfast was more than adequate and the whole ambience was so wonderfully French.
Disliked: Still thinking!I guess the village was a little touristy but that was priced in before we booked. In any case, before 10.00 am and after 5.00 pm the village was very quiet and peaceful, allowing one to browse the shops at leisure.

Exceptional

Liked: Loved everything about it. The staff were friendly, and helpful. Rooms were magical with comfy beds and beautifully appointed. Breakfast was yum! Walking distance to all the incredible sites this town has to offer, being right in the middle of it all
Disliked: Try not to arrive on a Sunday like we did - bollards prevent you driving your car up to the hotel to drop off luggage. The parking areas for the town are all only about 250 m away

Could be perfect

Liked: Perfect location, really spacious and nicely decorated room with awesome view, marvelous breakfast. Helpful and kind staff except for one lady at the restaurant's reception.
Disliked: Incredibly rude lady at the restaurant's reception. We arrived at the hotel at 20:30 and some people were waiting to be seated at the hotel's restaurant (it shares the entrance with the hotel). Although the lady saw us carrying our luggage, she completely ignored us, and when we told her that we wanted to check-in, she denied, told us to wait, and claimed that we should have arrived before 17:30! (The hotel had texted us to arrive before 17:30 and we had texted back that it was impossible since our flight to Nantes was due to land at 18:30). Forunately, another lady came by, really polite and helpful, and showed us to our room.
