Liked: Amazing location, awesome rooftop, very big room. Only the complaint- pullout couch was very uncomfortable. Mattress was so slim that the metal frame was poking through it.The hotel is very charming and the location could not be better. I was really pleased with the choice.

Disappointing

Liked: The hotel is ideally located in Viejo San Juan, within walking distance to just about everything. It definitely has the Old San Juan look.There was no hot water for the three days that we were there. We repeatedly asked for hot water but to no avail.The elevator was slower than dirt (several minutes waiting for it to arrive). The "stairs" were not a suitable alternative. They were death stairs. They were all different heights and different tread depths. Definitely would not want to carry luggage up and down them because the elevator was unreliable.The room had no exterior window.The A/C can not be controlled by the occupant. The desk clerk had to come to the room with a remote to change the temperature. With only one staff member on at that time, it took more than an hour for the A/C temperature to be changed.The swimming pool on the roof was missing multiple tiles on its walls. It is an infinity pool, and the spillway had collected a lot of trash that wasn't cleaned while we were there.For the amount charged per night, these little "inconveniences" are not acceptable.

We loved the hotel and...

Liked: We were given a room that was small and dingy. I looked at my reservation and found we had reserved an entirely different more expensive room then we have were given. I went returned to where we checked in and spoke to someone at the desk and showed them my reservation. The person checked my reservation and gave us the room I had reserved. This was the 2nd time this had happened to us during this trip. I realize everyone should check their reservation to make sure they are given the room they booked.

Liked: room was large, with high ceilings and OK bathroom. given this is a historic building it was nicely appointed. sitting up on the roof and enjoying a coffee was a bonus.
Disliked: no safe or coffee service in the room
