La Reserve Bed and Breakfast

Reminded me so much of my own home. A little run down, but that can be said for every single bit of Philadelphia I saw. I think it added to the homey feeling. Spacious room. Very clean. Firm mattress. Each member of the staff we encountered was friendly. They answered our questions, made good suggestions, and helped us avoid getting lost in the city. I've had better continental breakfasts but the cooked breakfast was tasty if a little small. The breakfast chef has a great personality. I don't frequent Philly but I will be looking to stay here on my next visit.

Disliked: Continental breakfast was meh. Cooked breakfast was much better but too small.

La Reserve is a very lovely Bed and Breakfast. The staff at La Reserve helped me find my way around Philadelphia. The breakfast on Saturday was delicious. I had a wonderful visit and was able to attend a concert at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby.

Liked: Spacious, beautiful bedroom at an affordable price.
Disliked: Too many attractions nearby and not enough time.

A comfortable and spacious suite...

Liked: We really liked the spacious one-bedroom suite and the comfortable queen bed. The location was quiet and conveniently close to the Red Line train, which made getting downtown easy.
Disliked: The bathroom was very small and felt cramped compared to the rest of the suite. Breakfast was limited, with very few options. Also, although the suite was advertised as having a full kitchen, it lacked essentials like salt, pepper, oil, a bottle opener, and a can opener — and getting these from the office was difficult. The kitchen seemed like it was not really meant for guests to use fully.

Ok, but probably won’t return.

Disliked: The railing to the fourth floor, right side of the stairway was very dirty. There was no electricity near the bed and no one offered to look into it. Everything felt a bit grimy.

Disappointing

Comfortable, but no frills accommodations...

Liked: Great location in a relatively quiet, city center neighborhood within a few blocks walking distance to most attractions and access to public transit.
Disliked: Some of the furniture could use some much needed TLC or replacement and the kitchen was pretty sparsely equipped with just a few basic utensils, plates, and drinking glasses. A bottle opener and corkscrew were notably absent.
