Reminded me so much of my own home. A little run down, but that can be said for every single bit of Philadelphia I saw. I think it added to the homey feeling. Spacious room. Very clean. Firm mattress. Each member of the staff we encountered was friendly. They answered our questions, made good suggestions, and helped us avoid getting lost in the city. I've had better continental breakfasts but the cooked breakfast was tasty if a little small. The breakfast chef has a great personality. I don't frequent Philly but I will be looking to stay here on my next visit.

La Reserve is a very lovely Bed and Breakfast. The staff at La Reserve helped me find my way around Philadelphia. The breakfast on Saturday was delicious. I had a wonderful visit and was able to attend a concert at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby.

Liked: Spacious, beautiful bedroom at an affordable price.
Disliked: Too many attractions nearby and not enough time.

Disliked: 1. We received written instructions and a code to enter the building after 8 pm. The instructions stated that our room would wait for us unlocked. It was actually locked. There was no number to call for help. What do we do, sleep on the floor? Eventually, we found another opened room and squatted there through the night.2. My computer and phone were charging, placed on the floor near the wall, below some framed painting. At some point, the painting fell down onto my computer and cracked the screen, rendering the computer inoperable. Why did it fall? Because a heavy 20-25 lbs painting was hanging on a small 10 lbs hook and a tiny nail barely threaded into a drywall. A loss of 850 USD for me. 3. The bathtub drain is plugged 4. Five days after the stay - decreasing the rating from 8 to 1. The reception promised a call back that has never happened. The host/owner is completely non responsive.5. Three months after the stay. Two months after the broken computer, the owner called to follow up and offered compensation, which we agreed. A week later the owner decided to change the form of the compensation, but kept the amount. Then the owner left a message that the check has been issued, which accountant did not do. But after a reminder, the check has finally been issued. So, 3 months after the incident I am compensated. And, actually, I am impressed that the owner cares about their reputation and meaningfully persevered to complete the resolution. Hence, increasing the rating back from 1 to 8.

Love the property so much,...

Liked: Breakfast was great, even though there are no cooked omelets anymore. Good selection - yogurts, fruit cups, pastries, cereal.Also no large dining table anymore - separate tables for two, convenient for those in a hurry.
Disliked: TV on in the dining room. Classical music would be better.No hot water for shower.

Liked: A lovely apartment. Generous sizing. Superb shower. Generous kitchen space. Great location.
Disliked: The sofa bed is REALLY hard and short in length. Not suitable for an adult or older teen. More of a 1 bedroom facility for 2 adults only.
