Reminded me so much of my own home. A little run down, but that can be said for every single bit of Philadelphia I saw. I think it added to the homey feeling. Spacious room. Very clean. Firm mattress. Each member of the staff we encountered was friendly. They answered our questions, made good suggestions, and helped us avoid getting lost in the city. I've had better continental breakfasts but the cooked breakfast was tasty if a little small. The breakfast chef has a great personality. I don't frequent Philly but I will be looking to stay here on my next visit.

La Reserve is a very lovely Bed and Breakfast. The staff at La Reserve helped me find my way around Philadelphia. The breakfast on Saturday was delicious. I had a wonderful visit and was able to attend a concert at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby.

Liked: Spacious, beautiful bedroom at an affordable price.
Disliked: Too many attractions nearby and not enough time.

Definitely a cozy spot in...

Liked: The weekend breakfast was delicious and much more extensive than we expected. Our tablemates were a pleasant surprise as well. Our room was on the highest floor, but we knew that going in. Others with trouble climbing stairs should choose another room. The suite itself was quite spacious, quiet, and comfortable.
Disliked: It would be awesome if La Reserve could make arrangements for discounted parking at the lot at the end of the street — so much closer than the parking garage on 17th Street.

Very inspiring location to stay...

Liked: The rooms are very cute in their decoration. each is unique. The decor of the rest of the B&B (lobby, dining room) is also very characteristic. The staff is super kind and helpful. The only reason I gave a lower rating for comfort is that there is no electric kettle in the room. The area is super nice and there are many nice shops and restaurants nearby.
Disliked: The heating in my room would somehow break down in the night, so both mornings I had to ask the staff to fix it (which they did excellently. The breakfast is OK but nothing too special.

Disliked: Altough generally clean, the moquette remains dirty. The bathroom can get rather cold since the window behind the shower is badly isolated. The owners of the B & B are very nice but when I arrived there was a guy who could not understand a word I said (I think he has high on something), it was a very unpleasant welcome.

Liked: Lovely historic BnB in a great and convenient neighborhood with the sweetest, caring manager, Maria. We stayed in the Hunt Suite which was on the third floor. It was roomy, nicely decorated, private and quiet .
Disliked: We liked everything.

A great experience - location,...

Liked: Location was great - walked to World Café and was on a feeder street for the Mummer’s Parade. Quaint neighborhood, 5 minute walk to parking garage or Septa stop. Good restaurants nearby and nice notebook in each room with all kinds of info including restaurants and arts venues. Very pretty at Christmas time. Innkeeper as very available and helpful!
Disliked: Be aware that rooms are up stairs. Our room was up enough stairs to get our hearts pumping.
