La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Minneapolis Bloomington West

Room was very nice! Amenities were poor. Only offered a tiny bottle of Pantene shampoo, to which my wife is allergic, and bar of soap. Normally the nicer hotels offer a couple of other items. We've learned with the price of hotels, we should be able to cut down on what we need to pack (shampoo, lotion, cream rinse, mouth wash, pkg. w/ cotton ball, Q-tip, file, etc.). Needs a different pool.

We weren’t expecting a five-star experience at this price, but the hotel pleasantly surprised us: the room felt fresh and tidy, no bad smells or excess noise.•Clean and well-kept. Bedding and towels were spotless; everything looked cared for.•All the basics covered. For a quick family stay we had everything we needed: working A/C, mini-fridge, microwave, hair-dryer, iron, decent pillows, etc. We really just needed a place to sleep, and this setup was perfect.•Convenient location. Easy to reach all our planned activities around the city, with supermarkets and breakfast cafés close by.What to know•Tiny pool. For such a big hotel the pool downstairs is surprisingly small. It wasn’t a deal-breaker for us (we spent our days out and about), but water-lovers might be disappointed.•Old-school door lock. It works, but we had to fiddle with it the first evening. By day two we’d figured it out and had no further issues.Bottom lineIf you need a clean, budget-friendly room to crash in while you explore the city with kids all day, this place is spot-on. Price and quality match perfectly, and the minor downsides are easy to overlook thanks to the overall neatness and handy location. Recommended for short family trips and active travelers.
