La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Charleston Riverview

My overall stay was very good. I was a little nervous about staying in a room with an outside door. Hotel was unable to accommodate me otherwise. I was the last room facing the highway. With that in mind, getting back later from the theatre my key card would sporadically not function. Luckily it did work that night. Good visit; breakfast satisfactory.

Liked: Room was very comfortable.
Disliked: Key was not working.

Excellent stay; nice location; very helpful staff. Came down for the Charleston Marathon.

Initial room was unclean. Dirty; urine on commode; dusty. Dogs barking incessantly. Front desk clerk was less than excited to help us out, although eventually she did give us another room. That room reaked of cigarettes but was the only room left for the night. It too was dusty and dirty but at least there no urine on the commode.

Liked: Location.

Will never stay here again

Liked: The guy working the front desk was very nice and helpful. Every time I went to the front desk there were people in line and he was so nice and helpful to everyone.
Disliked: Everything. This hotel needs a serious cleaning and upgrading. First off, the entire floor smells bad, I can't even describe the smell but it's a mix of wet towels, dog pee, and old food. The carpets are stained throughout the halls and rooms. The bedding looked so old and gross, we felt more comfortable spreading out towels to sleep on. The breakfast was a joke, when we went down an hour before closing there was nothing out but a couple pieces of fruit and no one in site putting more out. It's obvious no one cares about the guest experience at this hotel, it's so gross.

Decent 3 star hotel maybe...

Liked: Nice staff, great location , hot water , nice pool, and clean linens. No bed bugs!
Disliked: The hotel is outdated, and Unclean needs a good remodel and pesticide for roaches from the river the roaches get in due to a lack of maintenance on the buildings (holes in ceilings). Old doors to rooms don't close right. Wiring is sketchy in rooms. Mattresses are old and stained.

Nice location, but terrible mattress.

Liked: The location is terrific, right on the river. I felt self at this location and enjoyed the area, it was close to downtown and the places I visited.
Disliked: The mattress and pillows were terrible. Thank God I brought my own pillow. The mattress had a divet in it from the use and age…worst mattress I’ve slept on in a long time. Only way I was able to fall asleep was to be so exhausted that I didn’t have a choice.

Liked: Location is great.
Disliked: Had to pay to park in the parking lot of the facility. Pay for your room ahead of time then when you go to check in they request a credit card to charge for parking

Disliked: The floors in the room are very dirty had to walk on towels.i don't think I should have to pay for parking when I'm renting a room from you.

Passable

Disliked: The hallway needed a vacuum badly. What appeared to be paper from straws were all over the hallway floor. The bathroom had no functioning exhaust fan. The ac vent in the bathroom had mold all around. Door hinges completely rusted. No mini fridge in room. Ice machine on 2nd floor not working. The pillows were terrible.
