I think we paid too...
Liked: Assembly row is a great place to stay with lots of great shops and places to eat. It's very easy to get into the centre of Boston by the subway. Location is fantastic.
Disliked: We arrived in the evening after a long flight from the UK and the lady who checked us in was rude and unhelpful. We avoided the staff after speaking to her. It was over priced.

Adequate accommodations in good location
Liked: Staff was very accommodating. Rooms were clean (though the carpets are a bit old and musty). AC worked well. Location was good (walk to many shops, mass transport). Breakfast adequate. In-house laundry was helpful.
Disliked: La Quinta asked me the day before to confirm my reservation. The link sent me to an upgrade page, which I mistakenly clicked on. The "upgrade" was from two beds to a suite with one bed and a pull-out. The staff tried to put us in a two-bed room, but there were none available. They did move us to a bigger suite. The extra space was appreciated. However, the pull-outs in both rooms were totally uncomfortable (basically cots) and the bed was also old and lumpy. As mentioned before, the carpets need a good washing. The price was high given the accommodations, but that is Boston, I guess.

Great location, bad hotel keep...
Liked: It was very good location. It was decently clean.
Disliked: Chipped furniture; zip tied cords, unpleasant staff, outdated decor. Smoke detector beeped anytime someone showered and maintenance was aware and just shrugged thier shoulders, there was a $10 parking fee which no one told me ahead of time. I just saw it show up on my credit card bill

Passable
Liked: Location.
Disliked: Only one elevator was working - this was extremely stressful, as the hotel was packed, and the building was high. We had to go up to the 6th floor via the stairs several times so we wouldn't have to wait 5-10 minutes. The front desk did not tell me at check-in time that the credit card they asked for was for paying for the car parking and not the deposit like I assumed. When I realized the expense on my banking app days later, I called and was told that their policy is not to mention it explicitly since it was a Booking reservation and it is mentioned on their booking page that the parking has a $10 cost. This is just sad. The info is indeed available, but sort of hidden, especially for inexperienced guests. The least they should do is to mention the cost to the guests at check-in.
