La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Albuquerque Midtown

The room itself was much smaller than I thought it would be, since we reserved a King Suite. I was surprised by the size of it. For us the location was ideal - even though it was in more of an industrial area, the events and venues we had on our itinerary made it an ideal location.

Liked: The breakfast was fairly good and did have a good selection to choose from.
Disliked: Parking lot was a mess. They were being resurfaced and parking was a chore.

It was great my kids...

Liked: It was very rommy and spacious for us 4.
Disliked: I have nothing bad to say about this place.

We only stay at LaQuintas....

Liked: Comfortable room.Purple haired lady who checked us in was pleasant.
Disliked: Breakfast was upsetting. No waffles or pancakes. Charged $25 for our service animal. Never been charged before. We always stay at LaQuinta Inn while we travel. This is the first out of about 12 that wasn't above par. Rooms was comfortable. Huge homeless problem around the area.

Convenient place to stay

Liked: We checked in here due to our traveling with our small dog and this motel accepted pets.
Disliked: We stayed here about a week earlier. There were some minor issues then but this time there were more. Supposedly, this motel was recently remodeled but if true some areas did not get remodeled enough. This time we found the king size bed was not centered on the frame. Metal parts of the frame jutted out from under the mattress. If a guest was not careful the metal could be hit or kicked resulting in a wound to one’s shin or ankle. The bathroom tub/shower had been painted but the paint was peeling off. The tub was slippery to the point we laid a towel on the bottom in order to aid traction. The knob one pulls/pushes to operate the shower was stuck halfway between open and closed. It required several “taps” on its top before it would operate properly (carbonate scale?). The faucet was not screwed into the water line far enough. Part of the water pipe was exposed. Finally, the dog walking area is all gravel and rocks. Our dog did not like that, nor did several other dogs I watched when out there. Other motels have a green carpet or actual grassy areas for this. Why can’t this motel have a similar area setup? I left a handwritten note with the desk outlining all this.

Liked: Breakfast was very good. It was just what we wanted.
Disliked: The outside is all gravel. We brought a dog and she did not like walking on it. We wish they had a special grassy pad for our dog like several other hotels/motels do. Some guests are rather discourteous in that they do not clean up after their dog but that reflects on the customer not the motel staff.
