La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Antonio I-35 N At Rittiman, San Antonio

I will not be staying at this place again.

Liked: Nothing really. The front desk people were nice.
Disliked: Pretty much everything. The room wasn't clean and smelled like old moldy towels. There was hair on the beds, makeup/blood on bathroom door, carpets weren't vacuumed. Smoke alarm kept beeping and when asked for it to be looked at maintenance man said it's sensitive and didn't even touch the alarm and left so it kept beeping all night. Only paid a little over $100, but the quality is what I would expect to stay in a room that should only be $45 or $50 per night.

Liked: Rooms very clean, great service....definitely would recommend
Disliked: Train nearby is loud

Liked: The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was not to my standards. Light in the bathroom did not work so I had to shower in the dark and the microwave did not work. Requests for fixing this issue were received but not followed through. I booked a smoking room but upon check in I was given a nonsmoking room. Communication to the front desk was not followed through. Overall, my experience with La Quinta Inn was not positive. I stayed for ten days and experienced numerous problems with my stay. I would not recommend staying at this location to other travelers.
Disliked: The front staff was friendly, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast and coffee in the lobby was one of the few amenities that was provided and appreciated.

Didn't last 2 minutes in...

Liked: Check-in was somewhat efficient.
Disliked: When we pulled up the premises and the people hanging out in the parking lot looked suspect. Once we found our room and opened the door we couldn't believe the horrific smell and general lack of cleanliness we were assaulted by! Totally disgusting!! We immediately left the room, returned to the front desk and informed the clerk we would be unable to stay there, for the above reasons. She said she understood and refund our payment. That has NOT happened.

Liked: Nice and friendly staff. Absolutely welcoming and kind. So unfortunate though, as the place/building was completely opposite.Checking in and out was super simple.
Disliked: Place is run down and looks to be unsafe. People were gathered on staircases hanging out (drinking and smoking - and possibly other things) and clearly we're not staying at the inn. But I minded my own business and was left alone. Twice in the late night there were shouting and then someone loudly ran past my door, down the walkway. The room is old and falling apart - portions of the bathroom were rotted away and the tubs and walls were stained with rust or something brownish-orange. There were a few baby roaches. All that said, the sheets and bedding were clean or at least smelled that way, but with the way the whole place looked - there was definitely a lack of trust. I ended up laying on top with my jacket as a cover. Photos are deceptive on here and not at all like in person.
