La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham New Haven

Disliked: Someone tried to get into our room during the night. If we didn't have the security bar across the door, they would've been able to because they had a key. When my husband brought it up to the front desk, they said "Sorry. That was our manager checking the rooms." What?! Insane. Awful experience.

Clean and comfy room and a friendly staff.

Stay was fine and location...

Liked: Close to University of New Haven. Friendly staff. Breakfast was actually pretty good.
Disliked: A little pricey. Had to call twice for someone to repair our sink that wouldn’t drain and that backed up dirty water.

Very unsatisfied

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Room quality. Incorrect bed size from our request. Burnt curtains. Broken bed frame. Handicapped bench in shower that was no requested and could not be removed. The price of the room for a well advance booking for the quality we recieved. When we called the front desk we were put on hold and they never returned to the line. We were charged for early check in and late check out after they denied out request and we did not utilize that service when we were told no. Lastly the 100.00 hold on the card has not yet been returned to my credit card they have on file. Highly upset.

Good if you just need...

Liked: Location is great and easy to find.
Disliked: Breakfast was not flavorful, not many healthier options, most were ultra-processed foods, the room was comfortable, but furntiture old and dated, some outlets will not work, lamps broken, furniture broken, tv never worked (possible remote no fresh batteries), stayed 4 days and two days room was not made completely done. In some areas, you could smell the cannabis. The front desk could be more friendly and customer service oriented, will interact the minimum, and never say thank you.

No-Frills Budget Option in New...

Liked: There was a continental breakfast available and it was situated in a decent location.
Disliked: We did not request one, but were given an ADA-accessible (handicap) room that was incredibly out-of-date (80’s/90’s). For the price we paid, we found the overall lodging to be exceptionally underwhelming but, compared to other hotels in New Haven, it was certainly the best price available.

Disliked: I was charged 100 then when I got there I was charged additional 180 extra for a room before booking I requested a smoking room just so they can give me a key to a non-smoking room so as I entered the room that situated a little disappointed and disgusted I have things was done I received to watch TV and which the satellite dish that they subscribe to started acting up my shoulder came choppy and I could not see it this was supposed to be my first time away from home in years just to relax to decompress because my sister had passed I dealt with three deaths in a row and I just needed to get away this by far has been the worst experience I have ever had I will never ever in my life recommend this particular hotel to anyone please do better because you just never know what people been going through just to get away to relax

Meet my expectation.

Liked: Close to Yale university, price is fine. Easy to park.
Disliked: Close to a highway, Very loud at night.

Poor

Liked: The rooms desperately needed upgrading. There was red marks on the walls. The curtains were filthy and stained and ripped in several places. The toilet leaked on the bathroom floor, the air con unit was coming off the wall and so noisy I had to turn it off to sleep. The swipe keys kept failing and we had to get them reset several times during our stay.
