La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Minneapolis Bloomington West

Room was very nice! Amenities were poor. Only offered a tiny bottle of Pantene shampoo, to which my wife is allergic, and bar of soap. Normally the nicer hotels offer a couple of other items. We've learned with the price of hotels, we should be able to cut down on what we need to pack (shampoo, lotion, cream rinse, mouth wash, pkg. w/ cotton ball, Q-tip, file, etc.). Needs a different pool.

Liked: Clean room; breakfast set up.
Disliked: Small pool which was closed due to a problem.

Liked: Ok
Disliked: Blood on the bathroom wall! Fixtures on wall loose n dirty outlet coverings loose. Exterior very disappointing. Flower pots empty or filled with weeds or cigarette butts. Poor first impression to say the least! It appears nobody really cares.

Disliked: The carpet in our room smelt like pee. I understand is a pet friendly hotel, but the carpets need to be cleaned

Disliked: Breakfast .. poor quality environment - for a “ no smoking “ hotel there was always cigarette and marijuana smells In common areas .. horrible . Felt like this was a hotel the homeless were housed at with vouchers . Pool / hot tub area under construction - unfortunate because we wanted the hot tub and chose this hotel specifically for hot tub . When complaining about smell from cigarettes / marijuana staff just sprayed strong deodorant spray / didn’t address issue

Liked: Loved my suite with a separate living room and two bathrooms!
Disliked: Looks like they are in the process of building a hot tub. I can’t wait to go back and try it out. Also, the rooms have fake balconies, which was a tease. Either fix them to make them safe or put in a screen door that opens and allow the bigger door to open at least for fresh air.
