La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Garden City

Bed was comfortable and clean....

Liked: Location and staff was friendly. We were there for my son's eye surgery in the city and follow up was near Garden City the following day.
Disliked: housekeeper spread a room deoderizer while we were trying to get settle in strong smell as I just needed to get my son comfortable to "recover" so I accepted it. Very loud with children in the room next door with crying and screaming from both the adults and children. STRONG smell of marijuana wherever we went on the property. Just not what was expected of this Hotel chain as we always try to stay at when we travel. Unfortunately, will be going someplace else for the second surgery ;(

The overall stay was ok.

Liked: I like the location and cleanliness.
Disliked: The property itself wasn’t an issue. The costumer service was awful. Firstly, we arrived at 8:30 pm and three employees are at the front desk engaged in conversation. No greeting from the staff. I had to interrupt them by saying I’m checking in. She asked if I had reservations and proceeded in her previous conversation with the other two employees. Then she handed me the room keys without giving us direction to where the room was.The breakfast only offered eggs as a protein. There was no other option. They were hot cereal.

Satisfied

Disliked: The switch on the lamp between the bed and window was broken.Most important, the shower/tub needs a grab bar for disabled and older guests.

Liked: The breakfast.
Disliked: Well, to begin with one of the elevators were broken. Secondly, the staff were not dressed to reflect the hotel and the clientele was not to the standards from a previous stay. An extreme amount of weed was present in the place. At one point we had to turn off the heat because the smell overpowered us to coughing. It used to be a 4 to 5 star type of place and the rating dropped significantly. We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and unfortunately the overall atmosphere was very disappointing to say the least.

I enjoyed my stay

Liked: Good, it would have been nice to have some bacon and sausage. Staff was nice & accommodating. Riom was clean & comfortable.
Disliked: The breakfast could've had some bacon or sausage

One Night Was Bearable

Liked: There were no USB ports in the room. I was not able to charge my phone and watch in my room. I had to leave my phone with the front desk to charge and charge my watch in my car the next day. The mattress was lumpy and made for a restless night sleep.

Hotel Maintenance

Liked: Could have had the exterior grounds swept more often during the day, otherwise a very well kept hotel. The interior was clean and my room was wonderfully spacious and clean.
