All in all, you get...
Liked: Roof top lounge.
Disliked: This time the room was tight. could barely move around. Tv remotes were wonky. You need two remotes to turn on/off, change channel, volume up/down. They did supply us with 2 camp chairs for my wife and I but last time they were a folding type lawn chair that was short for sitting on the beach. This time they were camping chairs in a bag. Easy to transport but lousy for beach use.

Really love the vibe of...
Liked: Loved that there was coffee available early in the morning and during the day. Happy that they had parking and provided chairs for the beach. Enjoyed the rooftop restaurant, the beach and sunset. Room was great! It was directly on the PCH, but I liked seeing the activity downtown.
Disliked: Would be great to have beach chairs, rather than camping chairs, but it was fine! Little breakfast items are a nice touch, however, they are mainly packaged, not the healthiest choices!

Conveniently located historical hotel provides...
Liked: Amazing location near the beach, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Trolley also stops out front. Historical hotel with a cool backstory. Nice walk-in shower. Convenient parking. Nice rooftop restaurant views at the restaurant. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Spanish style rooms are very tiny. For 2 people with any sort of luggage, it's very difficult to manage. Sink is located in the room that barely fits a queen bed, small desk and standing wardrobe. Wonky portable AC system with a hose connected to the wall did not work well. Lighting isn't the best and the room faced the main road so you had to keep the blinds pulled down the whole time for any sort of privacy - meaning no natural light. Rooftop Lounge, while having a great view for sunset, is quite casual so manage your expectations about that for your dinner plans. Except free parking, not sure there is much value in the "resort fee" you pay. The phone app for unlocking the room did not work for me - used the alternative RFID keys instead.

Lovely historic hotel that has...
Liked: I like the Spanish style rooms at the hotel. My room was a corner room with a partial view of the ocean, very nice. The lobby has ample comfortable and welcoming seating and a fireplace that is always going. The hotel has the best rootfop bar in town with its proximity to the ocean and perfect sunset views. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is great, close to beaches and numerous shops and restaurants, and is in a nice, quiet part of town.
Disliked: This particular room was a bit small and difficult to navigate. The bathroom was small also. I understand this is a 100-year old historic hotel so this is expected. There was no phone in the room to call the front desk so I had to walk downstairs and back up each time I had a question. Apparently they are redoing the phones but still inconvenient. Also, there were no instructions in the room as to working the TV or the air conditioning system or as I mentioned a means to call the front desk. High tech items need instructions, please.

Disliked: Make water hotter, but it was acceptable.
