Bad
Liked: Have had to rate this property as poor as sadly our booking was cancelled on the morning of arrival due to a “technical problem.” As there was no further contact I called and spoke to the (owner?) who was apologetic. He arranged for us to be accommodated at a “private domain you will have it all to yourself.” We arrived there too early to find approximately 30 cyclists moving off. 2 hours later we returned to find our room and shower room had been prepared by kind Celeste. We certainly did have it all to ourselves and this was quite disconcerting. It would have gained a few points by having a swimming pool but the water was a murky green and had flotsam floaters. All I can I say about this place is that it was an experience and Celeste was smiling and helpful.

Disastrous
Liked: It is closed and out of business, other guests were arriving too and being disappointed, this property needs to be removed immediately from Booking.com
Disliked: Closed

Not the place to stay...
Liked: The location was lovely. Grand old Bastide with beautiful grounds. The rooms had an aircon unit that also served as a heater.
Disliked: In early November there was no service, just one caretaker who was pleasant enough . The restaurant was closed, if there was one at all. No room servicing, room was so dark that we asked to be moved. The reception was locked, entry was through an open front door which occasionally was locked so you had to find an open side door, and security relied upon code locks on the rooms.

A peaceful and charming stay...
Liked: La Bastide Du Bois Breant is a charming property, and we had the unique experience of being the only guests during our stay. While it felt a bit unusual at first, we quickly grew to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of having the space to ourselves. The staff were very friendly, though we didn’t see anyone at checkout. The property also has a restaurant that guests seemed to enjoy, but we arrived too late to try it ourselves. There’s a lovely boulangerie nearby where you can grab breakfast to enjoy at the property. Overall, it was a nice and relaxing stay.

So much potential but a...
Liked: Setting is ideal and tranquil, bastide is charming, large beautiful pool area. Rooms spacious. Aircon good which was great with 38c outside. Outside courtyard charming for a drink or eating.
Disliked: So much potential but really needs work and above all a focus on customer experience. Rooms are ok but need refreshing, common parts especially tired and out of keeping with the style of the bastide. The lounge areas are very old school and not places you would really want to hang out in.Not sure if restaurant was functioning or not to be honest but never really saw anyone eating much and certainly never saw a menu. The one time we had breakfast, they had no milk and seemed surprised that we would call it out!Hotel has I think 16 rooms but staffing almost invisible. Generally just one person at reception. Room cleaning is optional and has to be requested daily. There was no hot water for 2 days because the boiler broke. Apparently from other reviews, this has happened before. And then the pool...which is really lovely. However beware it is open to non hotel guests which is a real problem. On 2 days we were there there was a group of 24 non hotel guests at the pool (who had paid to come in) All beds taken and with 10 young kids in their group, the pool was pandemonium. We spoke to reception and were told that on the hotel website it never stated that the pool was for hotel guests only. We clearly told them this was totally wrong. You go.to a hotel like this for tranquility and exclusivity. This hotel could be great but at nearly 200 euro per night is way short of where it needs to be. Such a shame.FYI - Electric car charging is available but is just a mains plug so you need your whole adapter kit. There is not an actual charging station.

Very pleasant and perfect for...
Liked: Great base to start and end cycle tour of Luberon and with space to leave car. Really friendly and helpful owner and staff and very accommodating. Stayed one night in Roulette (fun / different) and one night in hotel.

Guest house with antique character
Liked: The room was large and quite comfortable. There were restaurants within walking distance.
Disliked: Way overpriced for what it was. Advertised that bikes were available and they weren't. No tea/coffee in the room. Very little information given.

The best place to explore...
Liked: Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. Our stay really made us like we were spending holidays in a secondary home. And on top of it, Maubec is a little Lubéron on its own.

Very good
Liked: The owner of the property is a great person, really nice and helpful. On the second day, he gave us the opportunity to move to a really wonderful suite. The pool is beautiful and there's a very warm atmosphere, you feel at home!
Disliked: The first day there was really too much chaos in the garden because of an event held in the garden/pool on the property. However, the owner apologized to us and was very kind
