Golden Tulip Aix en Provence is located on the exit of the A8 and A51 motorways just 10 minutes' drive from the center of Aix-en-Provence and Paul Cézanne's house. It features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi. The hotel was completely renovated in April 2019. All the rooms at Golden Tulip Aix en Provence come with a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV with Canal and satellite channels. They are decorated in a contemporary style. The 'Tulipe' restaurant is open daily and offers traditional gourmet and local cuisine. Guests can relax on the terrace with deckchairs and a barbecue. Great room and good stopover...

Liked: Modern, clean, surprisingly quiet, easy to find. Underground parking is about 30 metres away underneath next door building, but does the job. Young staff helpful especially when it came to my only complaint and issue ( see below)
Disliked: We arrived at about 1700. Went to our room and then came down to have dinner at about 19:30 as we planned an early start the next day. We were then told that the ( very small)dining area could not serve us until 21:00. It did not appear to be that full but there was one large group there. So we suggested we could eat at the bar - not possible; we then suggested room service- not possible…the only option being ( apparently) to go in to town. Great option when you have just driven 8 hours.The restaurant staff blamed Reception for not telling us to book a table on arrival. I had not seen the need at the time and had assumed eating at 19:30 would be easy. Very disappointing attitude we felt. The young receptionist did then help my wife open a Uber account and then order a take away…which we then ate in the dining area….in summary the term “restaurant “ is not accurate!!even go as far as misrepresentation.

Very enjoyable and we look...

Liked: Good location, friendly staff, very clean and very comfortable. It was our third stay and we look forward to returning.
Disliked: Breakfast expensive €20 per person.

Some noise from the hwy

Liked: Large room, good shower. Very friendly staff, 20 minute walk to the city centre
Disliked: Very dark garage, noisy location just above a highway.

All in all we were...

Liked: The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was of good size, well equipped, clean Location was close enough to get to the town centre by foot. We didn't like the breakfast, it was pricey and not to our taste, so we only tried it once.
Disliked: The breakfast coudl have been better.
