Good

Nice place to stay but...

Liked: Nice characterful room and very comfy bed
Disliked: Nowhere to really sit and have a wine or meal if you were staying over. Would be nice if the Abbey was open all day. Have to drive to Ballarat at night to get a meal.

Disliked: Still waiting on pre packaged butters, spreads, yoghurt and hearing back re ongoing weekly night rate.

Liked: location is always great, love being in Kryal Castle. the breakfast was really good too. Staff lovely
Disliked: The heater barely heated the room. No plug for spa bath - staff did attempt to fix it but wasnt successful. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable.

Disliked: Tiny home, we booked was very very dirty, very bad smell as soon as we entered, sofa was very filthy, lots of hair and dirt around the bed, kitchen and gas top was very oily, don’t remember enough now but it’s definitely need cleaning in detail for the price they charge same as 5 star but cleaning is as poor as 2 star

Day trips only, wouldn't stay...

Liked: Kids loved the novelty of staying in a castle, great being able to walk around the castle after hours, breakfast good value. Room was warm and had what we needed. Friendly and helpful staff. The Kryal Castle attraction itself is great for younger kids.
Disliked: We had booked the budget room so didn't expect much, however the bathroom ceiling had mould on it and a mouldy smell, bathroom fan sounded like a jet plane, window in the bunk room rattled all night, and the wall was thin enough to hear the guest in the next room snoring. Not a very restful night.
