Centrally located - functionally lacking.

Liked: Location: Very central location right next to the town hall. It had quite a few shops and restaurants around.Sound Proofing: One could expect with such a central location to have huge noise issues. But not the case. It was extremely quiet while the windows were closed. Which will also be a double sided sword as I will showcase.
Disliked: Lack of AC: The room had no AC or ventilation system. Which for Summer was not acceptable not only that but the room had no ventilator in the bathroom asking the guests to keep the windows open for moisture to escape. Which then ruins the soundproofing. Beds: Some of the least comfortable mattresses I have ever slept on. I can appreciate both memory mattresses as well as soft cushion mattresses and this was neither.Condition of the room: The room was in awful condition and for even a 3 star hotel this is unacceptable. Photos below will show clear marks on pretty much every wall and clear general dissatisfactory condition. Note: Booking only allowed for 4 photos but be surely that there were also issues with the shower elastic insulation as well as more markings on the walls.Water Heat: At the beginning of our stay we thought the water heater was broken. But after a while we realized that the water regulator was broken in our room. The water could not stay in one temperature for longer than 5 seconds and thus showering was quite the ordeal. Elevator: The single elevator seemed to have seen better days and it was constantly screeching. It sounded unsafe and I wouldn't recommend using it. Hotel Room?: This was trying to be a hotel room while cutting costs like an apartment. In the end it was the worst of both worlds because it lacked important apartment elements as well as hotel comforts.Reception?: How can a hotel call itself a hotel without a reception? It is okay for an apartment and even Apart-Hotel. But a hotel should meet certain standards.

Liked: The property was very easy to get to from the train station. Great location. Central to everything you need. Room cleaned every other day. The apartment had everything you need and more. Was fantastic value for money. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Köln. Great night life. Also as a lesbian couple, felt extremely safe at all times. Köln is a very welcoming place to all.

Liked: Its location and cleanliness are perfect. The staff was so kind.
Disliked: The building is a bit strange and small but nevertheless it is ok at all. We just needed a clean and safe hotel and it fitted our needs very well.
