Overpriced

Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel is clean, well equipped large kitchen and pleasant dining area.
Disliked: The sitting room was large but somehow felt damp and dull. The hostel was once a military hospital, so the layout and bathrooms are very much like a hospital. We felt it was overpriced for a hostel, particularly as during our trip, we stayed in several really lovely places for considerably less.

Lovely

Liked: The room was comfortable. And the kitchen and dining rooms were superb! suitable for cooking and enjoying an extended stay. Even though the bathroom facilities were quite old everything worked just fine. I am looking forward to your upgrade if I have a chance to visit Kirkwall again in the future. And the most important thing is the staff who were very nice, friendly, and helpful.

Disliked: Rooms were cold until heating was switched on in evenings. Bed very firm. Noisy group of male guests woke everyone up at 3.20am on Sunday 17th September.
