Bad
Disliked: The property was closed when we arrived, and obviously had been for a while. I am still at a loss as to how my booking was confirmed and paid for when they clearly weren't open for guests! I had repeat confirmations that everything was on track for my holiday, but they had not bothered to inform me that they were no longer operating for whatever reason. Arriving there to find the hotel like that completely ruined our holiday!Obviously I cannot rate the room, staff or food, as we never got inside the hotel!

Disliked: The hotel has been closed for the last 6 months,took us about 2 hours to find another hotel.Don't think it will open any time soon or at all.This has made me think about booking anything else with booking.com

Disliked: The property was closed for renovations however we had paid in full for the stay only found out when we arrived!! Not an ideal situation after a 7hr drive with a toddler!!

Shabby. No chic!
Liked: I enjoyed the sirloin steak for dinner but im struggling to think of anything else.
Disliked: Shabby. Desperately in need of refurbishment throughout. When checking in, the front of house even apologised in advance, for the condition of my room.Breakfast - The dining room floor hadn't been cleaned from the night before and the cobwebs on the light fittings had collected a fair amount of dust.The plates of cheese and ham slices were less than appetizing in appearance as the product and plates were clearly re used for at least a day or two. The photo shows how it was presented before anyone had taken any that morning. Frankly, it's a real shame because it could be a lovely hotel if it was sympathetically refurbished.I apologise for having to write a bad report.

Absolutely disgusting that we were...
Disliked: On arrival we discovered the hotel had closed down talk about a shock there was no prior notice and we are now £150 out of pocket so I’m sorry we can’t make any comment

Diabolical - the hotel was...
Liked: First point - the dates of this review (above) are incorrect. The stay booked was one night - SATURDAY 9 DECEMBER, check out SUNDAY 10 DECEMBER.Nothing, the property was closed! No communication at all from Booking.com or the hotel! Hotel completely uncontactable on date of arrival and still is!
Disliked: It was closed! Prepayment made to Booking.com on morning of check in date, has been debited from my credit card but is NOT being refunded. Booking.com advise they cannot assist any further because I did not contact them on check-in day! The fact that we were miles from home, standing in the rain outside a locked hotel and had to urgently find alternative accommodation doesn’t seem to matter to Booking.com. The hotel was also still available on Booking.com on Saturday 9 December but had been removed by the next morning. It appears Booking.com were aware of the situation and would (or should!) have been aware of any bookings they had for that hotel. I had mistakenly thought that because they were such a well established, respectable company that it would not be an issue to contact them the next morning, How wrong I was!! Booking.com have totally washed their hands of this situation, although my contract was with them NOT the hotel, they have failed in the provision of the service I paid for, and they advise me to contact a hotel that is closed and not responding to any attempts of communication. Booking.com said they had contacted the hotel, but couldn’t advise me how - not very helpful when they then advise me my only recourse is to contact an uncontactable hotel. I just wonder who is benefitting from the payment I made here? It is certainly not me - nearly £80 out of pocket for a service I did not receive. Totally unacceptable and very disappointing!!

Liked: Very disappointed as our booking was cancelled by the hotel 2 days before due to on going maintenance with no alternative suggested or offered!
Disliked: Better communication as I booked this back in October and surely if you knew renovations were taking place you would have known longer than 2 days before my booking !
