Do yourself a favor and...

Liked: So many great things to say about this hotel EXPERIENCE! The room was absolutely stellar, the bed was very comfy, the bathroom was spacious and luxurious and all for the right price point. I slept like a rock, woke up refreshed and wanted to stand under the shower head for hours, soaking up the high life this room offered. What really sealed the deal was the independent atmosphere/environment this hotel offered it's guests. Contactless check-in/check-out, supremely quiet rooms, halls and floors, ability to cook entire meals in a full kitchen space and complimentary use of washer/dryer, eliminating a task no one likes to deal with when they get home. These are the attentions to detail, both big and small, that add to the luxury touches a weary traveler deserves. The comforts of home in a way that felt true and not forced. This stay was, hands down, the best hotel EXPERIENCE I've ever had. I capitalized the word experience because it was more than just a place to sleep while on the road. I felt thought about and looked after as a customer. The dollars are in the details and they nailed it. Honestly, I was a little bummed that I had to leave. In all of my years of travelling, this was the very first time I felt a tinge of sadness while checking out. Kudos go to the couple that created this brilliantly and wonderfully different hotel experience.
Disliked: The only thing I would say that was slightly inconvenient was the water temperature regulation for the shower. Finding the sweet spot for temp was a little tricky, but given enough time, it will even out. The distance between the faucet handle to the shower head is comically far. I was walking back and forth from one wall to the other trying to get the temp right. It was actually kind of funny.

Disliked: The code to get into building and elevator didn’t always work. It was really annoying to have to walk up the stairs. Also the dishes were never cleaned in the common space and the one on the shelf was dirty. The nespresso machine wasn’t working.

Disliked: Nothing really- some of the rules were a bit vague, like where to put dirty dishes and stuff but other than that nothing to dislike

Liked: Everything about the stay was wonderful.
Disliked: Got a little rowdy/loud outside at bar time. Alot of drunk obnoxious people having a good time. Not from a big city so it's probably normal behavior. I would say my stay was 10/10 but with the loudness at 2am 9/10

Should have been better.

Disliked: We were in a deluxe king, corner room. I was excited about our stay. When we arrived the room was freezing. The thermostat was set at 67 but it was colder than that. We changed it to 73 and turned on the fan for circulation and sat in our coats an hour or so until we were ready to go to dinner. The room still had a chill so we upped the thermostat to 76. When we returned 2 hrs later it probably was 70. The bedside wall lamp didn’t work. We changed bulbs to see if it was the bulb and it wasn’t. The “down” comforter fill was bunched around the sides and zero in the middle. Given the room temp issue we called staff who brought us another one that was better but still had the issue. She then brought us a cotton blanket to add to it. We alerted her to the bedside lamp, she tried it, etc. and said she’d let facilities know. The shower was great, nice bathroom. Only issue was after a nice hot shower, when I used the sink in the bathroom, both the hot/cold faucets spewed hot water. No cold water came out. Frustrating. So while the Kinn Guesthouse looks good, it’s not functioning top notch. The location is good. The concept is interesting. It seems that there need to be more quality control processes in place. I also emailed the hotel itself with these comments on the night we arrived but have not heard back. What was meant a little anniversary getaway became a short stay (we left early the next am) at a hotel that had us anxious to get back to regular comforts (light, heat, etc)
